Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

May 7 boot camp first day
Well, I've gone from a DEP to a BCMom, he left today and I received the phone call around 9:10. I've been in his room and placed a blue candle in the window(like those plastic christmas candles). This made me feel good. Will start marking down the days tomorrow. From what everyone says he is in bed right now but will be up at 12:00. I know I am one of thousands of moms but it's my one. I am very proud of his decision but already miss him. Is there anyone else on here with a son that left for RTC today?

Mine left on the 7th as well. He's Ship 2, Div 934, eventually headed for Nuke. It's so weird not to be able to call or text him. (Well, I could.. but then I'd just have to go fish his cell out of the box. ;)
No letter yet here - I'm thinking maybe because he's in a performing division they might send theirs out a little later?

Yes, sometimes those in a 900 division send the form letter out later and also some in a 900 division don't send a letter if they join the division once it is mostly filled. If you get a "real" letter without getting a form letter, there is info on what to do within Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit. You may also want to check out 800 and 900 Divisions since you have a recruit in a performing division. Division 934 is Ship Staff/Honor Guard.
Sometime between now and the end of BC, you will want to join NUKE moms, Loved Ones in the Nuke Program!, Nuke's Moms/Wives/Girlfriends/Friends, Nuke School Charleston, and/or Nuke A School FAQ.
