OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

My Bf arrival to BC was Sept. 3, 2020. Any others have Recruits to arrive on or around the same day?

My bf left for bootcamp on Wednesday 9/2,and arrived in Chicago 9/3 around 6:45pm that evening. I talked to him up to the point where he arrived .  Then he had his first call around 10pm that night , that I missed :-( (I'm still sad that  I missed his last call) . He sent a text saying he love us and his next call is in 4 weeks.

I just wanted to connect with other members who had a loved one arrive on or around the same day . Have you received anything in the mail from your loved one ? Ship or letter info? Anything? I'm just in the dark about everything until I hear back from him next month.

My SR arrived 9/2, so close to the same date.  They may be in the same TG with the same PIR.

Oh!  and I believe we both can expect the form letter with the SR address around 9/30 to 10/3.  But hold that timeline loosely.  Once you get that, you can start sending mail.

You're correct -  they could be in both together! Thanks so much for the information. I will definitely be stalking the mail carrier everyday until I receive the FL. When I receive mine, I will let you know.

Welcome Patrice,

  • My SR arrived at the GL September 1st. I'm waiting for my official letter and 2nd phone call to come. Another Navy mom on here whose sailor has been in since 2016 suggested I sign up for informed delivery at The Navy mom's on here have been very helpful with answering any questions I may have.

Hi Jen,

Thank you for the welcome. It's great to hear your SR's arrival at GL  is close to mines. I am also waiting for the FL and his 2nd phone call. I will be sure not to miss his call this time.  Thank you for the  helpful tip, I just signed up for the Informed Delivery. I agree, - this group and everyone here has been a lifesaver.
