Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My Son Leaves for Boot Camp on February 2, 2012... Anyone else?
Hi. I just thought I'd get a discussion going for our future sailors who are leaving for BC in Feb. I'm already feeling anxious about it and get tears in my eyes reading the other discussions about sons/daughters who are leaving sooner.
The anxiety is from being proud and so happy for him, to also the feeling that he's leaving home for the first time to be out on his own and starting his life. He's eager to start his Navy life and wishes February would hurry up and get here.

My son is leaving, thought if feb 1, but it may be the 2. I am the same way now, I have done well for months and kept really busy, but now planning his party and today just crying my eyes out. He is my only son and him & i are very close. I like you am very PROUD and exicted for him, he has taken this all on himself and wants to go this direction.

No, but my son graduates Feb. 3! :) Hang in there ladies I've been in your shoes, it's tough but you can do it! So glad you are on this site, it is a lifesaver. Everyone here is very supportive and helpful. Feel free to express how your're feeling, we've been there, we understand, and are here for you!
