I can't stop thinking about him and worrying about him. I start tearing up at the drop of a hat. I have been reading everything I can about what is happening to him each day. Some of it has comforted me some of it has worried me a little. I just hate not being able to call him or talk to him. Eight weeks seems like such a long time right now..

e you recieved a letter yet with all his info?? Also, when is the meet & greet and how do I sign up?? Are you driving there or renting a car??
Thanks, Sunni
I didn't get my letter from my son until today. Unfortunately the letter is at home and I am at work. I told my husband he can't open it until I get home. So my husband went by the recruiters office and got a print out of his information. My son is in Ship 09 Div 111. On the print out it lists his grad date as April 7th. That is a Saturday and I haven't seen any grads on Sat. So I think my husband might be reading it wrong. I will find out when I get home. I am so excited I finally received a letter. Was you letter really thick?
trandles, We are two weeks and 1 day into this process He left us Feb 1. And he will PIR 03/30/2012 And I find it helps to get excited for the ones graduating now. as each Friday passes and I read all the comments leading up to and after their SR's PIR. I know we are 1 week closer to our's. But I still have my moments. Like yesterday was not a good day for me at all. But today I seem better. Just waiting ever so impatiently for a Letter or a phone call. All in due time I suppose.
Hi from East TN. My daughter left for boot camp Wednesday (2/15/12). My emotions are pretty raw, and I can't seem to feel settled... I jump from one task to another but can't concentrate long enough to accomplish anything.
Hi, I felt the exact same way when my son left on 2/8/12. I have been very unfocused with work etc. for an entire week. I am hoping now that we have his address and PIR date (and airline & hotel reservations) that I can settle down some. Just hang in there - from reading posts on this site - it will get easier :).
CAN APRIL 6TH COME FAST ENOUGH FOR ALL OF US !! THIS HAS BEEN A VERY DIFFICULT WALK FOR ALL OF US MOMS. BUT, I AM SO PROUD OF ALL OF THEM !!!!!! MADE MY RESERVATIONS AND I AM READY TO GO!!! HOPE TO MEET ALOT OF YOU MOMS. THIS HAS BEEN A GREAT SUPPORT SYSTEM
I felt the exact same way. I just got my son's form letter today, but it is at home and I am at work so I am jumpier than usual today at work. I am hoping reading it tonight will settle me down a bit. Hang in there. This site has helped me tremendously. The moms on here are so understanding and know exactly what you are going through. It is always good to know you are not alone.
Does anybody have a child who started Feb 13th I believe its DIV 810?? I was told grad is April 6th?? Im very eager to fine another Mom to chat with, ect.
Thanks- tbone aka Anthonys mom
MY SON STARTED FEB 7 HIS GRADUATION IS APRIL 6, SO, YOUR GRAD. MUST BE THE FOLLOWING WEEK.
We received the form letter today. His PIR date is April 6th. He is Ship 09 Div. 111. Anyone have a child with that date. Feeling the pressure to make reservations.
I also received my letter today and my son is in Ship 09/Div 111. I think I will at least make reservations for the hotel (since most have free cancellation policies) and wait to book the airline until I receive a letter from him letting me know how he is doing.
It's been a long week waiting for that form letter and was estatic when I opened up the mailbox, just to see his handwriting!
Dawn
Hi Dawn, My son is also Ship 09/Div.111. I want to make our reservations too. What hotel did you decide on? I also think since it is a holiday weekend for some, so the airfare may be higher. :(
