KatisMom,
I rec'd "The Box" today (30th). It was more difficult than I thought it would be, of course I thought she was going to donate everything except her phone so that's all I was expecting. Upon receiving box I knew there was more because of the size. Upon opening it there were the clothes I last saw my baby girl in when she boarded the plane. Still a little shaken up about seeing them.
I know how you're feeling...I too am on that roller coaster of emotions. Yes being Proud is always at the top of this list but know there are other emotions we go through as well. Just know that I as well are others are here for you. This site & the people on here have already helped more than I can explain. Glad I found someone in my SRs ship/div. Together we'll get through this & before we know we'll be in Great Lakes for PIR :) Keep your chin up & write everyday...they live for "Mail Call".
BDee76,
This site has helped me more than I would have ever thought before she left. I really tried not to think about her leaving until she was gone (survival mode I think) and I really just wanted for us to enjoy our time together before she left. This site has helped me realize i'm not alone or crazy, just a Mom missing her child. I am writing everyday and encouraging others to write, if that's what they have to look forward to then it's up to us to make it happen :) I guess we will keep our chins up together and I will be seeing you in January.
I just found out my son is ship#12 DIV 049. You are the closest person I know. Hope to hear from him soon.
Thankful for this site so I knew to contact recruiter.
I know I can't wait to get a letter! I think this site somehow makes us feel closer to our loved ones, more connected. Hang in there :)
Hello!
We will be looking for the mom/wife/GF etc. who will be interested in creating the 01/27/2012 PIR group.
Someone who’s recruit arrived on 11/21 – possibly the 28th or 29th. (Not sure if the decided to “finish” the TG before Thanksgiving) So ladies, if it is something you think you'd be interested in...Friend me and send me a message.
Right now I am seeing some of the moms who’s recruit arrived at RTC on the 21st and 22nd are receiving ship/div numbers from their recruiters. One of you would be perfect for this!
Please remember that when I post dates of when your SR may PIR...it is not exact. I am basing it on the earliest reports and making an "educated" guess on the cutoff date for a TG. BC can be anywhere from 7.5 to 9 weeks. Your recruiter may have your recruit’s ship/division as early as 72 hours after arriving at BC. I will take this ship/div # for the purpose of starting a PIR group BUT please wait for the form letter that your recruit will send home to address your mail and send it. The address your recruiter gets oftentimes is incomplete or has too much information that is not necessary for the address.
Thank You!
My son also left on 11/22...Got "The Box"today!Trying to stay strong!
ship 7 div 051 :)
Daughter left 11/22 haven't received anything yet. Sent her some letter today though. Ship 03 Div. 048
I finally got the form letter. My daughter stated the graduation date is 1/27/2012. She is ship 03 Division 047.She was saying there have been a few in her diviision that gave up already. I am excited for her. She is dedicated to completing boot camp. Any one else from ship 3 ,div 047???
Thank you so much. I received the box yesterday. I had to giggle at the box of dirty clothes. I am so very proud of Corey.
