My tank of positive is on " E ".. I have said it over and over that I know my recruit is fine. Reported 12/14 to BC, rec'd the I am here phone call & the formal letter. But I need a letter. Just a few lines.

Winter is my least favorite season already and now having the first kid out of the " nest " is just more to deal with..

I am so proud & know in my heart this is the best thing. But no one told me as a Mom, how much it would " stink ".  Have your children grow up and be responsible men & women truly is what we are trying to do as parents.

So sorry to whine and complain.. I hope you all understand because I would never send this to my SR.

Thanks for giving me a place to vent..

Come on 2011 & sunshine....

HANG IN THERE EVERBODY.  The boot camp nightmare is almost over for me, PIR 1/7/10.  I remember all too well 8 weeks ago and it will get better i promise.  I wrote to my =boy EVERYDAY and mailed out a letter at least everyother day.  I just tlaked about everyday stuff going on around the house, what the dog chewed up, etc......  I sent 4 "form " letters and he loved them.  i even complied a top 10 list of good things about him being gone..(You know, like David Letterman)  My sick sense of humor.   It was hard to think of 10 things though. Here is is......... Thought you would enjoy.  He did....

10 “GOOD” THINGS ABOUT ERIC BEING GONE :(

1.    WE CAN USE YOUR CABLE BOX IN THE LIVING ROOM!(big deal) :(

2. MORE ROOM TO PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY!:( (so what!)

       3. MORE LEFTOVERS  IN THE FRIG!!   :( ( I don’t care)

4. CRAIG CAN USE YOUR SHOTGUN!!  :(  (he’d still rather be hunting with you!!)

5. NOT AS MUCH LAUNDRY TO DO !!   :(   ( I didn’t mind!)

6. MY HEART DOESN’T SKIP A BEAT EVERYTIME I HEAR A SIREN!!  :(  (that’s a good feeling!)

7. I CAN EAT THE LAST COOKIE!!   :(  (I don’t need it)

8. I CAN SLEEP IN YOUR BED WHEN WHEN CRAIG WAKES ME UP FOR SNORING !! :( (still smells like you! :))

9. I DON’T HAVE TO BE QUIET IN THE MORNING WHEN GETTING READY FOR WORK!! :) (so what!)

10. THAT’S IT!!  I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE!!

LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU BUNCHES!!!!!!!!

MOM  XOXOXOXOXOX

I can't say thanks to you all enough... Reading your letters and some of the things you all have gone through were great. I know I am not alone. Once and awhile you get down in the dumps.

Thank You all for the wonderful words..

If you need to smile, go to the Forum tab, then do a search for "Top Ten Lines Home from Boot Camp".  This will give you a little idea of some of the things your SR is going thru, but in a humorous way.  They will survive and be proud of themselves when it is all over.  They break them down before building them back up, b/c they need to learn to work as a team.  The main thing is to keep letters of encouragement going, (number them so they will know which to read first).  Mail call is the highlight of the day.

Wow, it was a long time until the first letter @ NavyGirlsMom . I do just keep telling myself , no news is good news. Over and over. If I say it enough maybe I will believe it..

I just keep writing and sending out the letters.

It does not look as if many from ship 3/ div 080 have rec'd letters. So not sure if that is good or bad.. Positive.. Positive..

Tomorrow is another day.

Hey I got a letter today. (Ship 9 Div 074) I couldn't believe it.  He said he would have gotten to write on Christmas but someone in his group was talking during the CPO's Christmas speech and they got beat for Christmas.  He wrote "LOL" after that.  I think he is being entertained. (Kinda like living in reality TV.) I feel much better. I hope it wasn't him that cause the beating.  He said "the hardest thing about BC is trying to ask the RDC's questions".  I think we as mom's take this so much harder/personal.  We don't want anyone yelling at our babies. But they are just taking it as it comes. This is what they signed up for.  I hope you get your letter soon.
I haven't been out here much lately...but reading everyone's comments makes me feel better (not feeling as if I'm the only one still sad) I too am trying to be very positive...hoping each day maybe I will receive a real letter or maybe even a phone call.  But at the end of the day, when nothing comes...I try and say, "well tomorrow is another day, and another day closer to seeing him" so I will do my "hope I get a letter" dance today for all of us.  This is truly a great place to vent!  Thanks ladies.

hey, just think of it this way...by the end of this weekend, they will be half way done. This week is firearms training...i found a week by week training schedule..so every monday I post the info on his facebook along with a  new "navy" image to go along with it..it helps that i kinda know what he's doing...
