Hi everyone. My son is leaving to boot camp today. I'm not doing so good. I read everything about it but I never imagined would be so difficult. Its nice to be able to read comments from veterans to try to make it easier for me....

I have a Nuke too!  he left on the 4th as well.  I know just how you feel!  Where did your son leave from?

He left from Michigan and I think he was the only one from Michigan. How about yours?

Good morning nuke moms...

My son is a nuke too...like William in Nashua's son mine is also an ET. We are in week 3 of boot camp but it is a long, long road to get through the schooling part. It takes a lot of support from the family. Start now. Start writing. Even if you don't have an address just write.  Keep their morale up.

Best wishes to you and your kids. :)

Jen

Hi.

I've been writing everyday. My son asked me to keep him up to date with all the sports. Never read so much the sports section of the paper as I'm doing now...

LOL...I actually read sports for the first time ever this morning. LOL. I don't know if my boy even cares but it is something to write about. He is probably sick of my telling him what his sisters are doing everyday.

3rd week is hard, exhaustion and stress lead to the ever prevalent ricky crud, no matter how many shots they get. Keep your phones handy because they might get a call! My son's division did and I missed it because I didn't know he might get one! No guarantees. My son didn't get another call till after battle stations.

But as we persevere we are rewarded! I am posting this from PIR.

My boy called on Tuesday. It was the best 30 minutes of the last week. He had a cold. Hopefully it doesn't get worse. Congratulations to your son and you!

ekuk~ My 'Nuke" son Kyle is from Oregon. We had to drop him off at the hotel Monday night (the 3rd) that for me was the most difficult. Then we went to MEPS on Tuesday morning and we were able to see him get sworn in. After that we left and the pride, sadness, & missing all balled together pretty much ruined any chance of a decent conversation with anyone! It's tough. But, my house has never been cleaner and I feel as though I'm doing my part to keep the home fires burning, but I miss him terribly. Lets keep in touch! I know our sons & daughters will make us all proud, and proud yet again at graduation. For myself, I can't wait to get the letter letting us know when graduation is, I'm ready to plan that trip!
All of the stories are so helpful. What a great place for us moms! Thanks, Toni
Help veteran moms! We are at the GL NEX frantically waiting for my son. One of his division mates told my dad my son got put on watch. Aren't watches two hours? Thanks!

Can I send pictures with the letters?

I thought I left you a comment on here... My son left on the same day as yours for BC and is also Nuke!!! Stay in touch!! We will maybe be there together!!!

Did u get a phone call?
