For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My sailors PIR was Nov 9th. He needs 2 packs of boxers, 1 pack of white socks, one pack of black socks and one dress all black pair of dress socks. They really mess their socks in boot camp. Black shoe polish kit. There is a Walmart across the street from Sarges Meet and Greet. If he is going to be in A school in Great Lakes. We went after meet and greet at 8pm.

My son graduated 10/19...laundry det is a must. A lint roller, dress blues attract everything! A lot of stuff like civilian clothes he couldn't have until he phased up. He will probably want to shop, mine did. We hit nex like 3 times!!

We did not take pillows or sheets and blankets btw. He'll probably want cell phone,iPod computer etc

sapphirestone909 - They do not need any linens. Everything they need for daily living is provided except for hygiene items. I would ask him what he would like to have and when he can have it. They mostly ask for socks, undershorts, a set of civies for when they can wear them (after they phase up), their cell and computer. They really don't have room for much if they have to travel to A school. In that case, it's better to wait until he arrives and gives you the address to mail the stuff. If he is flying out, he can't have anything until he reaches the airport and most only want their cell and laptop. If he is staying in GL, he can have the items the day after PIR.
