Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Away at Great Lakes (Away in a Manger)
Away at Great Lakes
With their shaven heads.
The Seamen Recruits
sleep on hard metal beds.
The moms here at home
All day we do pray,
Our Seaman Recruits
Will call home today.
The mailman is coming,
He brought one! Hurray!
The Seaman Recruit
Just made someone's day!
The letter is read
Without a dry eye.
The tension has lifted,
With a very big sigh.
The letter brings comfort
And wipes fears away,
This won't be forever,
I count down the days
Until graduation
(We bought our airfare)
We asked for vacation,
So we will be there!

To all the mommas and papas who are still waiting...
Let it Glow
Oh the missing my child is frightful
But the Pride I feel's delightful
And I think I've lost all control,
Let it Glow, Let it Glow, Let it Glow
The tears for me aren't stopping
And I've got tissues for sobbing
My blue can`dle flame does glow
Let it Glow, Let it Glow, Let it Glow!
When I finally get my call
How I'll never ever leave my phone
And I'm trying hard not to bawl
Now I don't feel sooo alone
My tears are finally drying
And my cheeks hurt from my smiling
But no matter how far you go
Let it Glow, Let it Glow, Let it Glow!
I'm dreaming of a form letter
The one that tells me where to write.
That answers some questions
about his division.
It would help me sleep at night.
I'm dreaming of a form letter,
With every letter that I write.
I want the correct address tonight!
So my SR gets the letters that I write.
I'm dreaming of a form letter,
It is hard to wait another night.
The flame of my blue candle burns bright!
As I wait to mail the letters that I write.
This one is to Walking in a Winter Wonderland. Enjoy!
The phone may ring, are you listening?
In our hearts, pride is bursting!
A beautiful sight,
Our blue candles burn bright,
For every single SR at boot camp.
Gone away is our child,
The ride we're on is real wild!
We miss them when their gone.
It feels so very long!
For every one who's SRs at boot camp.
In the mean time we can write some letters .
Put on stamps and bring them into town.
We will send them of to our loved ones.
As the days to PIR count down.
Later on we'll conspire,
Should airfare be acquired?
As we make our plans
To travel vast lands,
To see all our SRs at boot camp.
In the mean time we can write more letters.
And we'll know that they are Great Lakes bound.
We'll have lots of questions to be answered,
Thanks to N4M they will be found!
When they call, ain't it thrilling,
As our eyes begin misiting.
We'll listen and say, "We're proud every day
For every single SR at boot camp."
