Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Phone call home...probable discharge :(
My son shipped out on July 6th, so he has been there less than a week. Today they did a hearing test that he did not pass. He was on delayed enlistment for a year waiting for this and passed the test at MEPS, so we are completely blindsided by his not being able to pass now, and not sure what has happened. He said that he will probably be coming back home in a few days and he is completely devastated, my heart is breaking for him and I cannot be there for him, and we are not even sure exactly what is happening.

I did speak to the recruiter today, he said that if he is separated, and the RE code allows, that he can try again in 6 months after seeing a DR and submitting documentation that is was temporary and his hearing has returned to normal. Not sure if he will want to try again after this experience, but hopefully it will not disallow him forever.

Well everyone I got the next call today, they are separating him due to the hearing loss. Thanks everyone for your support. He said it will be a month and a half before he is home, but he seemed ok. He said after his waiting period and once his hearing is normal, he will pursue enlistment. Everyone take care and wish you all the best and happy, healthy Sailors!
