Got my letter also!same PIR date, same ship, same div. Now to get going on airline tickets then hotel. Very overwhelming!
So exciting to have a date! We will make our arrangements probably in about a week and a half. Going to hopefully stay at the Navy Lodge.
I received my letter on Saturday. Looks like our boys are on the same ship. I'm so overwhelmed with making areangements
I think I'll wait to the weekend to really start making plans. So much to consider. Not even sure which airline/ airport is best! Definetly want to do some sightseeing.

I'm glad to finally meet some moms from Jody's division.  I'm starting to plan the trip but it's kind of a mess.  Nothing major, just timing is weird.  My daughter's senior homecoming is the 3rd.  I know that I am flying back Saturday morning to be home in time to see her off.  I'm not sure if we're are driving and I fly home or we are all flying.  My poor girl is torn because she wants to see her brother but she doesn't want to miss her senior year activities.  :(  I told her that whatever she decided no one would be mad at her.  I think that made her feel better.

Hope to get to know you better.

Sharon

Happy to find some others in the same division also! That is hard when you have conflicting activities! We are coming from the West Coast so once we are there, we're there for the weekend!
Is your sailor going to Pensacola? Mine also, feels better, we live in Florida

What is your recruit's rating (job/specialty) going to be?

I'm from the Midwest.  It's only a 9 hour drive so that's possible.  In fact, I prefer to drive...I hate flying.  Did anyone get only 1 sock in their box???

Sharon

Hello PIR Oct 3rd Moms!  My SR is Oct 3rd as well.

How are ya'll doing? We are doing the talking on travel plans. Anyone thought about Sarge's Meet and Greet? How does staying at the Navy Lodge work, have you ladies found a page that explains it better than others here? The 1 sock is funny! I liked the rolled up boxers in the boots in my SR's box, he must have known I would need a good laugh at the point of receiving it!

Join PIR 10/03/2014 TG 47 to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. See the info in Saving Money PIR Weekend for info on the Navy Lodge. Your Sailor is your sponsor and you will let them know that you are making the reservation for PIR weekend when you make the reservation and they will help you with the process.

Just rsvp'd for the meet and greet, thinking about travel plans, will probably book airline thís coming week, maybe Tuesday night. So much to do! Checking out the hotels. Haven't made a decision yet.
