I was wondering I was reading in the handbook that they are going to ask for vehicle registration What if you are renting a car and also how many cars can get in the base on one gate pass? My son wrote his 4 names down do you think they will allow more family in?

Thanks any input will help

each car will need a gate pass, but you can print as many passes as you need.  Recruits are allowed 4 people in the ceremonial hall for graduation (under 12 does not need to be listed).  If a recruit has more than 4 attending, they will have to wait until about 15 minutes before graduation starts and then they are allowed to enter the hall if there is room remaining.  Unless it is a very large graduation, there should be room.  There were 9 divisions in my son's graduation and the end bleachers were empty.

Thanks so much this was very helpful. I am learning as I go and I am really confused about alot of this stuff. Just don't want to do anything wrong.

Thanks again

have you joined the Boot Camp Mom's group?  that one always has lots of questions and answers about boot camp.  Also 'like' U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command on facebook -- they are very good about answering questions also.  check out the info on this page

depending on which version of internet explorer you might not be able to open the site, but firefox works.

also..its states in the parking pass that you will print out (closer to PIR) that if you are driving a rental..that the rental contract will act as your registration.))
The only ones who count toward the four are those over the age of 12.  I have been stressing about this myself.  I have been told not to request additional passes as they won't be granted.
If you have a rental car, you will need to show the rental agreement for the car and the gate pass.
The rental car should have all the info in glove compartment.  Just ask them and they will know what you need. Also, you can get as many cars in as you want. We drove to GL but took the shuttle from the hotel to the grad.  It was great. They dropped you off closeby and they knew just where to go. i suggest it. W had 4 go to graduation, but it ended up being a different 4 that was on the list. They never even checked. They just asked what division and sailors name, thats it.  It was an awesome day. Have fun. Lori
We had 7 people and my son added them on some sailors that only had 1 or 2 coming for graduation.  And we drove on base and it was very easy too- I know everyone says the shuttle, but honestly we were fine.  We got there by 7am- my friend was at the gate at 6:30 and she saved us seats.  I suggest getting there early for good seats especially if there are alot of you!! Enjoy every minute of it- it was an amazing weekend with my family!!!!
mickey...when is graduation?? Join the PIR group ASAP it will be your lifeline for info and support
Graduation is Feb 18. I am so excited to go. I am from the Chicago area so I have a lot of relatives there to. Cannot wait to see my son though, miss him very much.
Our son graduated from Boot Camp last May.  We were the only ones going so he added two people on his list for a buddy.  When we got to the registration process, we were asked if those people were with us and I just said "Haven't seen them yet."  The buddy must've told them which sailor to ask for when they registered.  Everything went really smooth.
Yes!  Our son was in Ship 12 Div 183.  I thought there were alot of divisons graduating that day.  It was a little cool and rainy - glad we brought our coats along.
