Ok so my husband (according to the recruiter yesterday) is ship 09 div 283.
But, the address he gave me is the Ohio street one, not the sailor drive one. He wrote it complete with the ship name and number so I thought it was correct but after reading on here I am worried that it may be the sailor drive address? Do I go with Navy for moms or the recruiter? The address the recruiter gave me is on the envelopes, but I still have a bit of time to pull them out of the box and change them. I am especially worried the recruiter is incorrect b/c he didn't write in the div # the first time he gave me the address, I had to ask for it to which he said he was sure he included it :)

newnavywife - they have different addresses for different divisions up there. My oldest son's address was on Ohio Street (which is a correct street) and my youngest son's division was located on Sailor Drive. The barracks are layed out like a small town with street blocks. If he said he's on Ohio St that is probably the correct address. Hope this helps
You go with the one on the RTC site at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp:
SR Last Name, First Name MI
Ship 9 Division 283
3415 Sailor Drive
Great Lakes, IL 60088-3515
Recruiters sometimes give a generic address for the RTC and if the street address is not correct then mail will be delayed, sometimes for up to 3 weeks.
Hi. Here is the link to RTC's website that has the address for all the Ship numbers. I would definitely wait for the form letter from your husband. The address the recruiters give are sometimes wrong.
Ok, so I am hearing two different things lol. The link says sailor drive for ship 9, but could ohio street still be correct based on his division like submtmom says?
No, Sailor Drive is the address for Ship 9.
Ok, going to mailbox to grab mail and change out addresses! Thanks for everyone's help!
:o)
The division number has nothing to do with the street address. It's the ship number that determines the street address.
This is true, thank you :)
