Thanks so much I hate not being able to talk to him, But this helps thanks again

You are so right about this site, I am so glad that I joined. It has made me feel better and given me so much information.

I rec'd my son's box today. No note, no address. Just his clothes & cell phone. Hope the letter comes soon.. I did feel strong. NO tears..

Hi Mickey64

The letter comes a day or two later in the regular mail.  Hope you get it tomorrow:)

Gaile

Thanks I will be waiting for it anxiously... Cant wait I have already started writing him. Is that weird???

I just go the box. Reading this post has helped alot... comfort, knowing I'm not alone.

His T shirt and underware were missing.  Also, his socks didn't match.  I am so worried he got abused for that and I am wondering where his underware and tshirt are.  Jeez, I hope he didn't forget to pack them and got a beating for it.  Oh My!!!! I am just thinking of all the stray underware and socks, I have found on the way to the laundry room and remembering how annoied I would get with him.  I guess, I should say a prayer for him and his group. :-)  I wonder if they could really teach that sort of thing.  I hope he makes it thru boot camp.

My sons socks matched but they were stuffed into his pants pockets. His T-shirt came home but the polo he was wearing, his underwear and his backpack didn't. I cried a little and had to smell his clothes. He put his brother's name on the outside of the box. Knowing him he did it b/c he knows his brother was ready to wear his new tennis shoes....LOL

That is called "Kid in a Box" LOL  Yea, I cried too.  I still have the box and my son graduated 12/3.  Like you I was wondering if I was supposed to write to him there.  In another week or so you will get a form letter from him with his mailing address and graduatio (PIR) information along with a short note from him.  But, his recruiter may be able to tell you his address now.

I feel better now about smelling his clothes! Glad I'm not the only one although it did feel a bit weird.  My son left on Tuesday, so I was surprised to get the box this fast.  Now all I need is an address so I can finally get these letters mailed.  Thanks for making me feel a little better.  My husband was excited to get the box, I just got teary.

That's adorable!  My 16 year old daughter walked in the den when I was looking through the box and said... Geez that smells like Erik's room! Go figure. lol!

I too received my son's box today!  Really surprised since he shipped out on Tuesday, 12/14.  I thought it would be next week.  Maybe that means the letter will be here early too! Anyone else have a recruit ship on 12/14 from NC?

I got my box today and LOVED it.  It was just like my son...nothing but a bunch of dirty clothes to launder!   Plus, I felt so happy to know that he is safe and in GREAT hands.
