Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

She left :(
Because my daughter was delayed entry, she left yesterday for Newark. They had her in an overnight hotel stay. She text me at 3 AM saying "Welp I leave today idk if I will have access to my phone by the time you get up so, I love you, Mom."
I know they were to take her to the airport today to fly out to BC.
All of these weeks I held in the worry and built my daughter's confidence, but the minute she walked out the door, I bawled my eyes out.
So many emotions right now. It isn't about her being in the Navy. It is the fact that she is grown now and on her own. It happened too fast! Sure, I have been through this four times before her with her siblings moving out, but it never gets easy.
I think I am going to hold my last two tighter and plead with them not to grow so fast.

I was a HOT Mess the night my Sailor went to the Hotel for MEPS. My Hubby found this site and I spent the WHOLE night reading everything I could find. I learned we could go the next day to see him swear in, we went to the airport where I held it together a bit better to say "See Ya Later. I Love You ALWAYS No matter what!" and till we were out of the airport parking lot. then I just Bawled and bawled and bawled!! I was so exhausted that I missed getting to hear the "I'm Here" call (You should get yours in the small hours Tonight!) You can also call her cell phone. If she hasn't checked in with the Navy yet you can visit and if she has it off, you can leave her a message for when she gets it back after graduation!!
We are here. We KNOW exactly what you are going through because we have been there ourselves. We will not abandon you to be tossed about by the storms that come through Boot Camp! Post here or on the Main Bootcamp Moms page with any worries, fears, questions, concerns and Especially Celebrations!!
We will answer as best as we can, commiserate when that is all we can do and Rejoice when that is warranted!
Your feelings are Normal and valid! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Be kind and gentle to yourself for the next few weeks, This is a HARD transition!! It's not like letting them go to college or move out and get a job and an apartment... Been there, done that, This is HARDER!. But Never forget... YOU raised a child who is strong enough to be willing to do anything to Defend and Protect the Country and the Constitution, there are not that many who will do so!! -

You are welcome. I know how lost I felt. Almost like someone had died but at the same time I was so proud of what he had chosen to do and I was thrilled for him because I knew this had been his plan for a long time! I was rescued by the ladies on here way back then and I just try and pay it forward to the other new moms.
