Anyone out there that might know what kind of free time our boys will have on this weekend? Coming from Washington D.C. and want to know how long to stay. Do they leave for A School on Saturday? Are they free? Anyone?

It all depends if your SR is a grad and go... They will have liberty time after PIR but they have to be back in the ship at a certain time at night. Make sure they don't be late!! Then u can get them again next day on Saturday approx 8am remember it all depends if they are grad and go...good luck
Thanks MrsMink, appreciate it. Guess I will plan to see him in the am on saturday and leave for home in the afternoon. Appreciate your help!
If he stays in GL for A school you will get time with him Fri evening, Sat 8-8 and Sun 8-8. If he goes anywhere else for A school then he is a Sat. departure which means you have time with him Fri afternoon and then can wait at the airport with him til he flies out on Sat. He may have to report to the airport as soon as 3am Sat morning. He won't know his flight time until just days b4 graduation.
Ditto. My son's basic training graduation date is set to be July 1st at Great Lakes (932 div) and I was wondering if he would have the 4th of July (Monday) free with us or would they send him on the school on the 4th of July. I'm assuming this would be a long weekend and we would get to spend the 4th with him before he leaves for school. I've tried to find out with the recruiters office but I haven't gotten an answer yet. Can anyone offer any information before we buy plane tickets?
Well, guess my plans will work. We are flying in on Thursday eve, and flying back home on Saturday afternoon. We also have a daughter here in Virginia giving birth to twins on the Thursday so we need to hurry back and give her some support. Geez, does everything always have to happen at once in this family??
Hi Ladies, I just got back from my sons grad. It was awesome..any questions, just ask..
You're welcome!!! Lots of luck with your SR
Hi mominva! my name is mamahouse59 and my recruit is in the same ship and division as your son.  My understanding is they should know about their A school anywhere from the week before to the day of PIR. I usually get letters on Thursdays, so I'm hoping to know soon. We are from PA, and are driving to GL. only 17 more days! i am getting very excited. I don"t know which has been harder the first 3 weeks or these last 3.
