The review & test is that when they do timed swim, & running? I'm worried about britt, we always tease her she's the littlest most out of shape in our family (5"2" 115 lbs ) but hates to walk unless in the mall....lol
My husband is Florida! He's in the same division as your son. =) At least it will be easy to spot our SR on graduation day!
How do you know if they are a "grad and go"?
I think we have to find out for sure from them directly at some point, but I know my son is going on to Nuke school, and in the Nuke group on this site, someone mentioned it starts the next day, so anyone going to Nuke school will leave PIR evening.  I have a friend who's son was a seal, and they were able to spend the whole day with him.  He didn't ship out for a couple of days afterwards.  Sorry I don't know more.  There is also a facebook site set up by the Recruit Training Command, and you can post questions they will answer.  I posted one, but have not heard back yet.

Hey, My son is Ship 9  DIV240 also.I still haven't received a real letter. his PIR is 7-29 and he will stay in GL for A school. I am fron SC.  I have not made reservations for PIR yet. I am terrified of driving in Chicago. We come from a 2 street light town.

My son left June 6 and his PIR is July 29th.  I just made reservations at Springhill Suites. If you call them, ask for Navy graduation discount. We plan to fly in Thursday morning and back out on Monday morning.  He is going to San Antonio for five months. Since we live in Texas, it is the perfect place for him to go to A School.  No real letter yet.
got my first phone call last night about 6 pm (6/28)  He sounded homesick, and said they pulled his wisdom teeth.  He is OK though, and  cant wait for this part to be over.  He said approx 4 of 80 have been sent home.

We missed our son's first call home last Friday.  He tried 3 times and left a message each time.  He sounded terrible - hoarse, coughing and souned stuffy.  He said he had pink eye and that this was going around his barracks.  He said "I really wanted to talk to you guys".  His division lost about 4 too.  What division is your son in?

Dani, I just realized what group this is so I see what division your son is in.  My son is in 937 and has the same PIR as your son.
Hey, been reading your post . I got my 1st letter last friday.  no phone call yet. My son said his foot swelled up and they put in on light duty for 6 days. if it continues to swell and he cant pass the 1 1/2 mile run in time he may be held back. i am just at a stand still as far as making reservations. I don't know what to do. I,m so afraid i am going to miss his call

That does make it hard to know what to do.  Hopefully you will get another letter this week and he'll have good news for you.

I got my phone call today and he sounded good. He had his wisdom teeth cut out yesterday. They had to put him to sleep and cut them out. His foot is okay. I feel much better about everything today. i also got a letter thet had 3 letters in it and his mood seems to swing from this is a nightmare to i'm really proud of myself. i feel like I can make plans now.  Hope your son is okay.
