My son Krevon is having a hard time getting adjusted and he has been in bc for over 1 month, and it doesn't help matters that I missed his first phone call on 8/2 and he has not been able to call again.  :(

Krevons mom- try not to feel too badly. If you don't hear from him then all is good. My SR didn't even get to call. I know in my heart she is doing fine. The first 4 weeks are always the hardest, or so I'm told, then it will get much better for them.

Thank you happyfeet, I am just counting down the days til Sept 7.  I think its even harder for me, cause we live in Chicago, only 20 minutes from Great Lakes, and I can't see or talk to him, but your words of encouragement are really appreciated.  How is your SR doing now?

I think she is doing fine. Says bc is miserable but she's getting through. Got a demerit for opening door for a PO! Says she won't make that mistake again! Then she was made section leader for marching and orderliness of area of room. She is same PIR. Are you going to Sarge's Meet n Greet? Would love to meet you...

I am happy to know that your daughter is doing well and adjusting! Congrats on making section leader, I think for a girl that is an awesome honor.  I don't know anything about the Sarge's meet n greet, when is it, is anyone allowed to come or do you need to be invited? I would love to attend, Do you know how I can get more info on it?

it's at the sundance saloon in waukegan, about 10 min from Navy Lodge. From 5:30- 9:30p on Thursday 9/6. Whole family can come (kids too). Food, drink free. There's donation can, Sarge pays out of own pocket each week! Gives info @ PIR, things to do, etc. Plus you get to meet the people you've been talking to for the past couple months on here!!

Thanks, happyfeet, I was able to view the meet and greet times and locations from the link here, this site has always provided me with so much insight to everything.  Thanks to you all!  Totally looking forward to it, hope to see you there as well, I'll be the one wearing the "ProudMomofSRDay sign :)

Krevon'smom, I'm right there with you. My son's letters aren't telling me how he's really doing and I missed his phone call too. PIR is less than four weeks, thank God. Are you going?

Bether311 yes I will be attending PIR, wouldn't miss it for the world.  I am so very proud of my son, and can't wait to see and hug him. His letters are not very informative, so most of what I learn, I learn here, and with the help of his girlfriend who actually lives and works near Great Lakes, alot of her customers work there and they give her updates and information, that's how I keep informed.  Where are you traveling from?

Krevon'smom, I'm coming from northern Indiana, not too far a trip. You?

I live in Chicago, 20 minutes from Great Lakes, but I did get a room in Waukegan for Thursday night, I did't want to risk being late, LBS

Hi KrevonsMom, here is the link to your sons PIR group. There is lots of information there for you, and 110 others with SRs in your sons division or training group, looking reading and posting. :) Come join the group!!!
