just received my letter it was great to hear from my son even if it's just a few words, can't wait for graduation so I can see and hug on him, it's been hard for me it's the first time he has been away from home for this long and then wrote graduation date 12-8-11 instead of 8-12-11, it took me a little while to figure that out.  I had to calm down and stop crying and take some deep breathes.  This will be wonderful site to support all of our new sailors and we can see each other at graduation

Happy Day!!!! Just got my first letter from my SR, he sounded great in the letter and It was like he was having a conversation with me.  I just hope no one at the Post Office because when I opened the box I took out my mail and in the back was two pieces of paper and I took them out and one was my letter, I yelled rather loudly WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO, I thought about it later but I will do it again the next letter probably also.  5 Week and 6 days to graduation!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait to meet you also Kathy, have you received any mail from your son?  I am so happy for all these men and woman who are doing such a great job for our country, I can't wait to hear his voice and then I know he is doing good.  I think we will be staying at the Ramada just because a mom that i have chatted with said it was nice and it has a lounge and rest. inside.  Keep in touch remember less then 6 weeks left.
My husband and I would come also, I think I may stay there, I have read reviews on hotels and they seem to be good and bad reviews so I talked to a previous Mom and she stayed there.  I can't wait to meet you, you will get a letter soon and it will be just like christmas.  have a great day.

Ship 10 Division 257

Hi all you moms out there!  Still in the process of making arrangements for PIR. Still haven't received a regular letter yet from my Sr.  Anyone from Southern California? It's pretty difficult finding a place to stay that may be a dive, reading all the reviews is overwhelming. Does anyone know when our SR's would know if he's a grad and go? Getting excited!

Hi alwaysamom!  I haven't received a regular letter from my SR, and let me say, each day its not there I get a little more anxious!  I just want to know that he is ok.  I am from the Central Valley (California)...glad to have someone close!  :)  We are staying at a place called Springhill Suites..its a little more pricey at 119 a night, but the rooms have a "sitting area" in them, and if my SR just wants to relax, I wanted him to be comfortable.  It is within a couple miles of the Ramada.  They were really nice when I made my reservations (I got the name from a mom on this site).   From what I understand about the SR's finding out about "grad n go" its about a week before PIR...not much notice.  I am super excited about making this trip and seeing my son!!!  It feels like it has been forever. I plan on going to the meet and greet on Thursday night at the Ramada, hope to meet alot of the moms..since we are helping each other go through this together.  Hope to talk to you soon!

Well, I missed our son's first call home from boot camp! The phone was ringing as my husband walked in the door from work, he was the only one home at the time :(  We did get 2 letters since he left.......wonder when he'll get to call home again, hope I'm there when he does
