For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello.....
My son graduates on 6/3/11. I rec'd " the kid in the box" yesterday and the form letter today with PIR info. Does anyone else have a son/daughter graduating on 6/3/11?
My son will be attending the HM A school. Does anyone know if the HM school is still in GL?
I'm so proud to be a Navy mom!!

Yes he did, basically telling me that he is still alive, bootcamp is alright, to tell everyone hi and that he loves me. He is a man of few words when it comes to writing lol.

@Donna R. - My recruit is also a man of few words. But those few words meant so much, didn't they? I just felt so relieved :) This site really helps as well. I'm probably on it too late though. I was up last night communicating with another mom until midnight. Usually, I'm in bed by 10:00pm. Thank goodness I'm not working today.

I know the feeling...... I could stay on here for hours but unfortunately I am working a double today. And yes......when I saw those few words he wrote I was so happy but got a little choked up at the same time. I am so looking forward to graduation.

It's nice to meet a mom in the same field. Yes...... I'm going in at 3 and working until 7:30 tomorrow. I'm sure I will be exhausted by the time I'm done. I normally do 12 hr shifts but that extra 4 hrs makes a big difference. How about you ....... do you work in a hospital?

I do work in a hospital....actually 2 different hospitals. I work PRN at both. I like to have control of my own schedule.

I wish I were PRN again. I actually took a FT position October of last year. I worked 2 jobs for the last 5 years and just recently decided to work just one. Think I was starting to get a little burned out. Hopefully we can find one another at graduation or at the meet and greet. Well I suppose I should get ready for work.
