I just received my son's address from his recruiter and he is also Ship 12/Div 159.  The recruiter does not yet have the PIR date and we have not received the letter or our "kid in a box."

B left for BC last Thursday, March 10, 2011.  When did your child leave?  Have you received the box or letter?

We just received our letter from our son in ship 12 159.  we received it last week
My son left 3/9 and is in the same ship as both of your boys, (ship12/div157). I have not received the box or the form, but I have been told that PIR is May 6. This is a week earlier than I thought, but that's ok with me! What a great Mother's Day gift we will all receive.
I have not received the box or the form either. And yes, I've been told on this site that PIR is May 6th. Our recruiter told us not to count calendar weeks, so I assumed it would be either the 6th or 13th. Of course I hear it can change, so I'm not making any plans just yet. Just so exciting to get an address!! The past five days have gone by like three weeks. Honestly, I don't want the box. Just the thought of it is horrible. Except he did say he recorded a video on his cell for me to watch the night he spent at MEPS so I am looking forward to that. And forwarding to my phone all the texts we sent, because I accidentally deleted them from my phone! that sent me into a breakdown that had me sobbing in his bed. LOL...so glad things are starting to move. Maybe I can get back to being normal. :) Nice to meet you ladies.
The letter we received from our son ..May 6 is the graduation date

Isn't it strange that the things we thought would send us into tears and meltdowns haven't. I have found it to be the little things, like cell phone texts and messages being deleated by accident.

My son hasn't lived at home for a year, but I miss that voice on the phone, "mom, you know I love you, right?" "yes, what do you want now honey?" or the text that says, I just wanted to say hi and your not at home, where are you?

Seeing as my son is also my only child it's pretty darn quiet around here. No more teenagers bounding up and down the stairs, opening the fridge and freezer 100 times. Those little things that I'm missing more than anything now.

Keep you chins up and your eye on the mailbox! PIR will be here before we know it! :)

Lol, that's so funny. My son texted me all the time from work..."Mom, where r u? I love you!" An I'd say what do you want, and his reply was always "fooood". Sometimes he would just text me "hungryyyy". I miss that so much. The days go by sooooo slowly. I can't believe it! How on earth will 8 weeks ever go by?? Keep on keepin' on, I guess. In all my letters, I've told him "we're waiting on the other side for you, get that Navy ball cap."

Got the box today, and he recorded a video of his room at MEPS for us to watch, and said "I love you guys". I did peek at some texts (I know, bad momma) but he had asked his girlfriend if I was okay the day he left. He was worried about me. That's why he never once waivered. He was being brave and strong to help me. 8 weeks cannot pass fast enough. So glad you all are here. No one understands how I feel except others going through the same thing.

ME!!! I am ship 12 DIV 159... okay, well my hubby is!!! I just got the Form today!! So excited about it!!!!

Awesome! I noticed you got the box Tuesday, I got mine Wednesday. You got your form letter today, so I'm thinking I will get mine tomorrow!! :) Does it show graduation date 5/6??

YES!!!  I am so excited!  It was really the best feeling in the world to get the letter!  I needed it so much. The Box was hard to open, but the letter really makes up for it. I just hope that everyone stays on track and graduates when they are suppose to. It makes me nervous because they put so much emphasis about how they can easily have the date pushed back for PIR because of failing a test or getting sick!  Fingers crossed over here for all our Guys and Gals in DIV 159!! I know they can do it!!

I just received my son's form letter today and his is Ship 12 Div 159.  His PIR is scheduled for 5/06 and I can't wait.  I received his "box" last week with all his belongings.  One thing we noticed was odd was that his jeans were rolled up several inches which is something he would never do!  My husband and I figured he must have already gotten yelled at for his jeans dragging the floor and they "suggested" that he roll them up.  Sounds like he got off to a great start!  I don't want him to get in trouble, but I know he will think that was funny when his bootcamp experience is over.

I can't wait unitl May!

Hi Everyone!

My son is also ship 12 div 159. I thought it was so funny to hear I think shelly say that her son sent her txts saying "hungryyy" that happened daily to me! So funny! as far as the pants being rolled up- I understand it's because they are trying on shoes for size and then they put their clothes etc..in the box. Ours as well were rolled up!

So may 6th is PIR..I have not received any word yet, just the box
