Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi,
My son left for boot camp on 9/6/2012 and received his address yesterday from his recruiter. Was wondering if anyone else has a son or daughter with the same Ship/Div #. Also, do you think his PIR will be on 11/2 or 11/9? Would like to connect with other moms and dads. It has been quite a rollercoaster ride but am so proud of him and thankful for all who serve our country.

I'm proud of him too!! And you mom! My SR left from CA on 9/5. I still haven't received the box or letter. I'm anxiously awaiting, but know it's Navy time now. So, I will let you know if we are same Ship/Div number. Yes, is is a roller coaster ride that we are all on! Stay strong, just like you sound like you are! Love and support from CA!

Thanks for the support! Have you contacted his recruiter? My son's recruiter contacted us 24 hours after he landed in IL. We were shocked to get his address so soon. If I were you, I would give him a call. Keep me posted and sending you love and support from Upstate NY!

It could be either of those days. Once you or someone with a recruit in division 361 or 362 receives the form letter, you will know for sure. Know that Divisions 361 and 362 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so watch for others with a recruit in either division. Since you received the address from the recruiter, be sure to go to http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp and double-check the address. Recruiters sometimes give a generic address for the RTC and if the street address is not correct, it can delay mail to your SR for up to 3 weeks,

Thanks lemonelephant! I am totally new to this and wish I had all your knowledge. Had no idea that the divisions trained together and don't understand about Battle Stations. I just checked the address the recruiter gave us and it is different from the one on the link you provided. Guess that first letter will arrive late :(. Thanks again for your help! Navy4Mom's has been such a tremendous help to me :) !

You are so welcome. I was once a new Navy mom too. I didn't find out about N4M until right after my Sailor's PIR so I just had the info in the form letter and in what is now http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil. Now there is also https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand. You will find lots of information and support here and in those resources.
What address did your recruiter give? Just put the street addresss. I am curious. I have seen recruiters give the address for Ship 2 and Ship 7 most often.
Battle Stations-21 is the final test before your SR becomes a Sailor. Battle Stations-21 is a 12 hour evaluation program with 17 ship board scenarios from missile attacks that can cause fires to flooding caused by exploding undersea mines. Recruits also stand watches on the bridge and are tasked with engineering scenarios, lookout scenarios, and mass casualty drills. Battle Stations is conducted several times a week, at night, on board USS Trayer (BST 21), a 210-foot-long Arleigh Burke-class destroyer simulator. One to four divisions participate in Battle Stations-21 at one time.

3600 Ohio Street. OMG, you should write a book. I love all this info as I want to be as informed and educated as I can be. It was funny, the day before he left, I said to him, "When PIR is done and you are on Liberty .. . .", he said to me, "What's Liberty?" I almost fell off my chair! I actually knew something he didn't which really shocked me. Anyway, would love to "friend" you as I feel I have a new "mom" to guide me through this process.

I am content to be an advisor on N4M. Yes, there will be things you find out about before your SR in BC and if you join the group for his A School, it will be the same there. If you know what his rating (job) will be, I can let you know if there is a group for his A School and/or rating.

Sorry for the delay but I just finished doing part one of the Battle Stations. It was awesome. The zip was 60088-7105.
You do a wonderful job educating people on this site. My son wants to be a Hospital Corpsman with hopes of becoming part of the Fleet Marine Force as a Combat Medic. He loves EMS and since he was little has always told me he wanted to protect his country and rescue the soldiers that were injured (said that at age 5; he is 17 now).
Will join those groups and definitely "friend" you.

Great! It will be wonderful to keep in touch during these 8 tough weeks. I am already looking forward to the graduation. That is what is keeping me excited and not depressed. I am trying to keep really busy. Let me know how you are doing. It would be something if our boys are in the same ship/div.

Yes, I am so anxious to receive the form letter...still have quite a few days for that. I have an empty house now, all three boys are out on their own....the silence is killing me lol. Thank goodness for my 2 dogs. From experience, it does go by quicker than you realize, especially after the first 2 to 3 weeks and the end result - PIR is the most amazing thing to see, such a proud moment that you will never forget. Keeping busy is the key, and not to dwell too much on how they are doing when we have no control anyway... I know, easier said then done. Curious to see if they are in the same division....
