OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

ship 14 div 291
Hi everyone! I received my first letter from my son Daniel a week ago, (it was dated july 29th and i got it on the 3rd of aug) and was very concerned about the division he is in..291 ship 14 He said a lot of the guys weren't studying or doing what they were supposed to do so it was affecting the entire division. It sounds like the over all morale was being affected however i know things change from week to week...he left on the 17th and is now into the 3rd week, Still no phone call home due to the infractions of his division he said. I was wondering if anyone else had any more input to add? I am also very nervous about graduation since he said some guys were being set back a few weeks. he said he wasn't sure he had it in him to motivate himself to go through it again, As a mom it killed me to read that. So far he had said he passed the first test (swim test) which was some what difficult and had not been yelled out YET. lol....i am anxiously awaiting his grad date of Sept 14th GOD WILLING nothing changes. we booked our tickets today in faith that nothing will change. FINGERS CROSSED and lots of praying,

No call for me tonight but I have seen about 3 others with the same Div get their phone calls. Maybe ours will come tomorrow. Was told by one mom that her son said there was like 200 waiting to make calls and some had watch duty.

Hi! When I talked to Chris last night he said he knows Dylan and knew you and I have "talked" a couple of times thru this website. He said he had guard or watch duty (whatever they call it) and when he went in to fill out the log he saw a dry erase board with his name on it and "phonecall 1900". He said he had to read it a few times because he was afraid he was imagining it!!

The bonds that are being built as we speak with our boys will be forever cherished...they may not know it yet but they are forming a brotherhood, one that i know i will never truly comprehend! i am so eager to see all of our boys graduate and see the beaming pride in all of their faces.

I am certain you will hear from him soon...when i spoke to my son i could tell there were lots of guys waiting...i sent him a 1000minute phone card but he hadnt received it so he had already bought one that was 400minutes...he said he didnt think he would be able to use any of them up since the division had so many points/demerits against them and phone calls were earned privileges. I told him to share the minutes with whom ever didn't have any. if you get a call that reads PAYPHONE with area code 847 that's HIM!

My son is in the same ship/division and he called last night!!! He sounded really good and didn't mention any problems within the division. He is on time for PIR 9/14. Hopefully nothing changes!! Keep positive!!

Hello, just joined this site in my son is in the same division . Just got my second letter yesturday . He said the samething about how his division is a mess. But he like it and did not get yelled at either!!! Lol But I did get my call in he sound up beAt in happy. Just a group of kids that need to blend together . They will all be find , I'm sure all the groups started out that way reading other post from moms in different groups with the same issues .

Join the group, PIR 09/14/2012 TG 44-11 Divisions (289-298 & 944) (clickable link), to connect with others training with your SR. There is a discussion within that group for divisions 291 and 292. They are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 togeher, so look for others with loved ones in either division.
