My daughter arrived at GL on Tuesday 8/9 and is assigned to Ship 2 Div 947.  Any other moms out there that have kids in this group?

Yes!  I do - I think we have to start our own group - but just got my letter today.  My son also arrived 8/9, but we just got his information today.  He sounded so good in his few lines at the bottom of the form letter.  I'll send you friend request.
Thanks, got your request!  I got our box yesterday and my husband told me the letters is waiting at home!  I cannot wait to get home to read it!  I'll join the group too, thanks.

I created a group for us - still working on the discussion breakdown...  http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir-10-07-2011-tg-47

My daughter shipped on 8/8 and is in Ship 2 Div 947!!!!!!

My son also arrived 8/9, I have been looking for a group.  I have received his beloning's but no letter yet.

So are all the recruits who arrived on or about 8/9 are  Ship 2 Div 947?

No - there are at least 4, but maybe 6, divisions in addition to 947 that will PIR on 10/7.  I'm waiting for the RTC to update their site so I can post them all in our PIR group.  Known Divisions are 329, 330, 331, 332, and 947, but waiting to see if 333 and 334 will be there too.  http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir-10-07-2011-tg-47 - we will be setting up discussion pages later today, please be patient while we get the group in order for all of your comments!

KathyMMom:  It could be a larger PIR group than that.  They have gone up as high as 14 divisions...there are actually 4 PIR groups of 13 divisions in a row that are getting ready to PIR, one after the other.  The more...the merrier!

Ladies, it is always better to have the division discussion groups on the PIR site, so please join KathyMmom's group through the link she provided and start your 947 discussion there!

Another interesting situation, my daughter's best friend went at the same time, on 8/9.  She's in Ship 12 but she graduates on 9/30.  I assumed they'd finish up at the same time!

I got my form letter from my daughter yesterday!  I had to laugh, the printing is so neat and completely different from her "usual" handwriting.  She sounded good in her four short lines that she was permitted to write.  Mostly she wanted to make sure we write a lot, said she cannot wait to hear from us.  I've sent letters every day since she left!  I hope some of them are getting to her by now.  I made our reservations for PIR on 10/7, I can hardly wait!
My son left for BC on 8/9 and we got the form letter wednesday also. He's in Ship 9 Div 330. I couldn't get over the difference in how neat his printing was, either. I can see a change in him already! Making plans now to attend his PIR on 10/7.

Please be sure to join (if you haven't already) your PIR group and start your division discussion there.  Here's the link:
