Yea.. it will be 8.5 weeks for our SR's.. I don't know aveomare.. when my SR wrote on Sunday (20th) she said Bootcamp was starting the next day.  I guess they do stuff during Pdays, but not PT stuff.. except when the BOYS can't keep quiet!  LOL

I don't think you're alone with that DK! Seems we've got a group of ladies here who raised their kids the old-fashioned way no matter how unpopular it was... I used to worry that they'd grow up to resent me for it, now I can honestly say I am PROUD of those methods. I know one thing, they are old enough now that they actually appreciate the values and traditions I was so adamant about teaching and passing on.

WAY TOO MANY kids grow up without learning manners, discipline, courtesy, etc. I'm proud to be part of a group of moms who did the old way :)

DK,

We got 2 letters today too! Geeze, they sound almost identical LOL!  AShley asked for letters every day, she too had her 2 bottom wisdom teeth pulled and was in bed for 2 days. She said their chief is AWESOME!  She passed her swim test and said she did shitty on her first PFA but they had some major physical thing the night before and she was wore out.

She said one of the guys she is good friends with "Knight" said his mom and I talk... not sure which one of you that is,  but our kids have become fast friends LOL. Also, "wong" ?? Not sure if I got it right, but she is also friends with her. She said there are a few fresh out of High school girls that are goofy but most of the older girls stay away from them as they are always in trouble. They have a gal there who is right from Russia!

She said her blisters were wicked, so bad her feet were bleeding  and she has to go to the Dr for that but other than that, she said most days she feels on top of the world and only a few days she feels bad. All in all, I got a positive feeling from her letters. They were written on Friday and Sunday of this past week. I feel so much better knowing she's OK...

I hope the rest of you get more letters today too!

DK,
REALLY?!?!?

How awesome is that???? HA!

She put a big smiley face next to the part about knowing him LOL I hope we get to meet in May!

Someone on one of the groups said the RDC's come to the N4M site to read the groups... has anyone else heard this?

I think there is a Vivian Wong on our PIR, here daughter would be veronica! :)

Another mom I know from FB, her daughter is ship 02/div 925 said that "she wishes she would get ALOT of mail like Horst does"... (That's my SR)  LOL Glad to know she is getting all we send!!

Hoping for a letter tomorrow or friday!  :)

One mom from our PIR who told lots of funny stories about her kid & bc had her son called into the RDC's office and they asked him if his mom was on N4M. He said idk, but then they turned their laptop around and said, "Is this your cat?" and he said yes. His mom's profile pic was of their cat, and the RDC's had figured out which recruit it must be from the stories! My son never said anything about his RDC's, just asked me not to give any personal info because "we have NO privacy here, and even first names are closely guarded."  I would say just be careful not to write anything derogatory about RDC's, the rest of the stuff is typical boot camp that everyone goes through and can help someone who thinks their own kid is the only one having a struggle.

LOL thats funny whiteclay.   "is this your cat?"  hahahaha!!

Hey girls, I just realized that this is your own division page. I first checked it out since it was a discussion on Boot Camp Mom's and the 900 divs always have questions like, "What do they do? My kid can't carry a tune, why is he in it?" etc and since I went through the same thing I try to help. I don't want to intrude on your group! To make it easy for new div moms to find you, you may want to start it as new Group, so if people search Div 925 your group page would come up. Our Div 913 actively looked for people and sent word through our kids, but only ended up with maybe 16 members. You seem to have lots of girl recruits and they might be more open to passing the word. My son is 25, has college degree and said, "Mom, I'm older than 90% of the guys, who are 18-20 and none of them want to be seen as mama's boys."  Okayyyy....I get it but their moms still need each other!  Some of us still stay in contact even though our sailors are in A school, and in fact one mom just met my son when they were back at GL visiting their son! Very cool!  Anyway, I'm happy to help or give tips, but will go back to the regular Boot Camp Moms. You all seem like a fun group of ladies!

Laurie

WhiteClay...you're welcome to stay as long as you want!!

That story was really cute about the cat LOL!!!

I'm still looking for my husband's friends, I want to know who byers is =D
