Hi Guys!

This is for our sons and daughters of Ship 3, Div 152.

I just received my "kid in a box" today, cried for a little while and got

over it. N4M's has been such a great source...I feel my son was

well prepared for BC, mostly because of the information I learned

here.

Feel free to jump in!  Let's encourage each other through the

next 8 or 9 weeks!

My daughter left yesterday and we got "the call" at about 10:30 last night.

"Hi Mom, I'm here, I can't talk long"

I asked her if they yeslled at everyone yet and she said "No, but they mean business!"  then "I gotta go, I will talk to you in about 3-weeks, love you... bye"

I am excited that it's finally started, but I do miss her. She was away for about 18 months for school but we could talk to her anytime we wanted.

I think N4M's is simply AMAZING, my daughter was also prepared because of what I learned here... this community is second to NONE!!!

I am here if any of my Navy Mom sisters need a shoulder to cry on! :) I am in east TN BTW>

Howdy, neighbor!

  We're in west TN...you have a friend!!!

Sounds like you're doing well, all things considered.  I told my son his most difficult task in BC would

be figuring out what to put as his "home town"!!  We've moved about every 5 years...so he can relate to

almost everyone, lol...

Keep in touch, and God Bless

thanks for posting, PCMom!

I'm a visual learner, and the videos helped me to be able to "picture" him

in his new surroundings...

Hi....my son leaves on 4/6 for boot camp. I'm already crying, I can't imagine how I will feel when I receive "the box"!! I know i will not handle the "I'm here" phone call very well. This is so difficult. Any pointers to help prepare either me or my son for boot camp?? I am new to this site.....I've mostly just been reading so far. I see there is lots of good info. I expect the site to be a great source of support in the coming weeks and months!!

hey Tiffsmom.

I would check out the DEP group...join and look at the link for WHAT TO DO BEFORE YOUR

KID LEAVES FOR BC...

there's so much information there.  Everything from buying a phone card so they can call you, to

getting a power of attorney for medical and legal things that come up.  (unless they're married, then

their spouse will need that!)

Feel free to ask question here, too.  Many of us have had kids that were delayed entry and we've

had a little more time to research things.  Things that have helped me, besides this website, are

prayer, and focusing on the positive.  He/she will be getting room and board, training and a PAYCHECK.

With this economy, they won't have to worry about employment for the next few years!!!

Hang in there. We're here for you!

Tiffsmom...hope this link helps.. It's under DEPPERS...in but not gone yet group...

Hi!  Received my box this week too. I am so blessed!  My son included letters.  One for me and one for his girl. He wrote them the night he stayed over at Meps prior to being sworn in and flying off.  We are now waiting for that first letter from Boot Camp. N4M's really helped during those first few days...I was a mess.  I am looking forward to PIR and would love to meet some of the moms and girlfriends that have posted on N4M's in the same training group.

Hey Cannonpark!

so great that you already got MAIL...I'm so jealous!  I can't wait for PIR, either.!!

  have a great weekend....

hey PCMom...

no, I haven't received any letters yet.  Our PIR should be 4/29 or 5/6 but I won't make my travel

plans until I get something firmed up. I do hope your son will go with you...makes the trip so much

faster!  (hopefully, he's good company!  :) )   Let us know if you hear something!

Hi Everyone, Just found out my daughter is in Ship 3 Div 152. I got her box on Thursday 10th.

FINALLY got something official from RTC.  Our PIR is 4/29/11  (could be delayed if injury, failure to pass a test, etc)

My son's only note was that basic is every bit as difficult as he was told, lots of pressure not to fail...

So glad to finally get something from him!!  :)  :)  :)

Got letter today and our PIR is on 4/29 also.
