Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

ship 4 div 2341

Just got a call from my daughter that she is being held back.  PIR originally 5/26/11 with ship 11, div 182.   Now PIR unknown if at all.  Is this a special ship for medical issues requiring rehab??  She had a knee injury, then swollen legs & feet.  She says they are sending her to a Cardiologist tomorrow.  I have only had 2 calls from her since she went in April 4th and they both were health update related.  She was very upset and crying although she says she isn't giving up.  I want to be supportive & encouraging but this is so hard.  I cant find any discussions or groups about this ship #.  I see the division on some old posts but different ship #.  Does anyone know anything about this?

Ship 4 Div 2341 used to be Ship 6 Div 2341.  The area for RCU (Recruit Care Unit) in ship 6 is under renovation so now it's in Ship 4.  It is the area that injured or sick recruits go to recuperate.  They are well taken care of in RCU, I know this because my son spent 5 weeks in RCU last year.  It was devastating for him to be injured and not PIR, BUT he received lots of Physical Therapy and was able to finish his bootcamp requirements from Ship 6 once he was cleared for duty.

 

It can be emotionally draining to be there as everyone is injured or sick.  Also, some are in the same area for FIT, because they can't pass PFA and receiving assistance, or have failed an academic test and are getting help. 

 

There is a group but I'm afraid that it's not very active, probably for the same reason you stated, different ship #.

My daughter was asmoed into this ship/division. She has had problems with her right side of her mouth since they took her wisdom teeth out. Long story short possible surgery and Bethesda took over her case.

My son called the other day to let us know that he was being moved to ship 4 div. 2341.  I think for him he just needs to pass his run time, but I am not sure exactly of what's going on.  I don't know if he is actually sick or injured or like he said needs to pass a pfa.  I know we have to wait for him to call us but is there ANY way that I can find out for sure what the problem is?  Anyone that can help me I would appreciate it cause this is one worried momma.

Ship 4 Division 2341 is the RCU, Recruit Convalescent Unit, where sick or injured recruits go to heal and be cycled back into another TG. He will be able to call every other Sunday if he did not make a call during the week to update you on things as he did the other day.  Sunday calls can be lost if anyone in the division messes up, just like calls can be lost for those in other divisions at the RTC, so unfortunately you cannot count on a call.  Join SHIP 04 DIV 2341 for more information.  He is the only one who can give you info on what is going on, but if he wants you to be able to talk to the medical staff he will sign the HIPAA form so tey can call you or you can call tehm. The next time he calls check to see if he has signed the HIPAA form and if there is a number that you can call, but remember it is up to him to sign that form and some recruits choose not to sign the form.

The address for the FIT division is Ship 4 Div 2347 or Ship 4 Div 2444, so he has been injured or is sick and must be declared Fit for Full Duty (FFD) before he can finish the PFA and continue. If you find out that he is in the FIT program, join fit program.
