My son arrived at BC on March 13th. My daughter-in-law just received his address info from his recruiter. We have NOT received his "box" nor his form letter yet. Has anyone received any info from their son or daughter that arrived around this same time? I woul like to connect with other families who have a member of this same ship / div.

Hello. Here is the link to the 05/09 PIR group. Nothing is really set until you get the form letter, but it is a pretty good guess this will be the correct PIR group. There are a couple others in the TG 26 group already.

PIR: May 9, 2014

Ellen can you sent me that link to the 05/09 PIR group?

mine shipped on the 13th as well and we got his box today (which we missed forgot to put note on door so they will redeliver tomorrow :( )  but other then that nothing

My son shipped on 3/13 also but he's on is ship 09, div 170....so close :(

I got address from recruiter too but format was wrong so I'm going to wait too
Connie...... Is your family planning to make the graduation? I've been looking at hotels, flights, etc..... trying to muddle through the expenses. Maybe we can meet there! :-) BTW... my name is Connie also!

Hi connie, we spoke a few days ago...yes, we plan on attending.  I sent you a friend request.  we're trying to figure out how to get more tickets..there are a lot of posts about hotels, etc.  we'll definitely need to meet up ! Did u get the box yet?

jodysc3, Just click on the date in my first post. :)

Connie.... we are also trying to get more tickets as well. At this point we are 2 short. So I'm hoping that my son can meet up with someone in his group who does not have family attending & we can get our names on that person's list. If not, one of my son's, Mom or Dad will have to stay back and watch it online. But, it's the best we can do. Either way, we are all traveling to be a part of this BIG event! Now just waiting for the confirmation of the date & start making our travel arrangements.

Hello ladies!  You really shouldn't ask your recruit to add names of people he doesn't know to his list for PIR.  They aren't allowed to do it and could get into trouble.  Just a thought. :)

hi mrsb, thanks for the heads up.

I didn't know other recruits can get in trouble adding other recruits family members.  we'll have to go to plan b..they came come to great lakes with us , watch online and then we can all meet up after graduation.  The new sailors can go with family for the weekend, right??

If the recruits are staying in GL for A school then you will probably have the weekend.  If they are leaving GL for A school then you can see them on friday and part of saturday at the airport.  They get to the airport really early, like 1 or 2 am, and I know many families who met their Sailors in the wee hours to hang out with them until they left.  My son's flight was at 11am but we didn't get there in the middle of the night. I was exhausted!
