How do you know what the ship's name's are? I think it's pretty cool that my son is on Ship 9, my husband was stationed on the actual JFK during the Persian Gulf War in the early 90's :)

I looked up the info when I helped in a few PIR groups, so it is in those groups to go back to and get.  Here is the link in one of the groups, Ship/Division--How it Works.

cool beans! thanks!

Momof2boys, my son is in ship 009 division 284! Recruiter left it on my voicemail last night.
Please pray HARD that their PIR is Sept 7. I based my time off work around that date based on what the recruiter told me eons ago. If it is the 14th I am soooooo screwed! But I will be there if I get fired for it! Which I won't.
And can anyone please tell me why my replies don't go out in email? I'm using my iPhone if that's any clue.
Thanks!
Beth

Finally!!!!   So Divisions 283 & 284 are Brother Divisions.  :)

FTLW posted about the problem with the iPhone on the main page of this group.  (See the comments around http://www.navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms?commentId=1971797%3AC....)

my son is Ship 9 Div 283 also, his recruiter called me Friday evening with the info, I sent a card out the next day, I don't care if the mail doesn't get to him yet, it will be waiting for him when he is able to get it! We received his box on Monday...my oldest son went in about 4 years ago & he never sent a box home, he donated his clothes but I didn't know that at the time & it made me crazy wondering what happened to his box... :) I am hoping their grad date will be Sept 7th, we are kinda planning our schedule around that date...

My husband is ship 9 div 283 as well. I have received the box, but no form letter yet. I got the address yesterday and put letters in the mail today. If they take longer oh well I guess, lol. I also started a ship 9 div 283 forum in the July shippers group if anyone wants to join. I am hoping that we can get a good sized group together, and when someone hears something we can post it for all to see :)

finally got my form letter today! my son is Ship 9 Div 283 & the letter said PIR is Sept 7th! :) WOOHOO!

Yay!!!!    I hope I get mine today!!!   I put letters in the mail this mornning.  I couldnt wait.   Ok, now to book the expensive flights and look at hotels, etc.  We are from NJ and last week looked like $900 for the 3 of us round trip from Philadelphia.

Me too, all the same!

If you have not found the PIR group for this division, join the group, PIR 09/07/2012 (clickable link), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  There is a discussion within the group for that division.  Know that Divisions 283 and 284 are Brother Divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.
