Has anyone else’s loved one left today for boot camp?! My daughter left a few hours ago and I have the biggest knot in my stomach lol. She told me she would text when she lands and she doesn’t want to call for her “I’m here” call but praying she changes her mind!

We missed our son’s first call! We were devestated. Last weekend you’d have thought we were in Battle Stations mode! But no call. Again, we were devastated! I never thought a single phone call would hold such power. We received a letter yesterday. The first via Sandboxx. The tone of this one is vastly different from first. He sounds stronger. He has distinguished himself. He is going to carry a flag! 27 days and counting he says. My tears this time were purely from pride and admiration. A good day indeed.

Stillmybaby that is great news of his accomplishments, How proud you must feel!

My husband left on the 18th as well and I too received a very short / rushed phone call from him. It was so fast I have no idea what he said. I am keeping myself busy and just waiting on his things to arrive, also keeping my Phone glued to my hand.

My daughter also shipped out on the 18th.  I got the call a little before midnight.  She seemed okay, but very matter of fact and to the point.  I was also worried about them not sleeping for 48 hours.  That had to be terrible.  Hopefully, they are getting into a routine and working through it.
