I'm having a difficult time not having any contact with my son. I know he is ok but I can't wait to at least hear his voice!

My son left on the 15th as well...more difficult than I expected. His siblings are having a hard time. We all miss him so much!! I can't wait for a real phone call. His recruiter gave me his address but recommended I wait to get a letter from him before I send one.

mommak, My second son has been having a hard time adjusting to his big brother being gone as well. He said its lonely without him here. Dad took it the hardest I think. It hit him all at once. I am very lucky to have a close relationship with my son so I am having a difficult time with no contact at all. I know its only temporary but I really miss him! I am also waiting for a real phone call! I will keep you and your family in my thoughts!

Hello - My son is in Ship 11 Div 384 as well. I missed his first phone call - and went ahead and sent a letter....I hope it gets there. I am currently trying to figure out the best hotel to stay at for the graduation. Has anyone gotten any information on that? I was told the graduation is Oct 11.

My son too arrived at BC on 08.15.2013, his 18th bday..  it realy is hard. he's soo young still...  my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours

My daughter left on the 14th and as any normal teenager had more contact with her friends through out the day then me. Got a text saying it was easier then her having to say good-bye all over again. Got the call at 9PM and it lasted a whole 25 seconds :( Try to stay strong and you will see that it will be over before we know it!!

My sons bus was going to pass through our town on the way from MEPS to Great Lakes and stop at a Cracker Barrel to eat.  He texted us and said not to come and stalk him as it would just make him feel sad and like he had to say goodbye all over again.  He was focused on just getting there.

My SR left the 8-15-13 and I just got his box today.. Hoping for his form letter tomorrow or the next.

I can't wait to get the form letter! I already have letters written and ready to send!

My son left for BC on the 15th also.  He is the second of my children to join the Navy.  The first is departs nuclear prototype on 28 Sept. and  is bound for Georgia and the Rhode Island Sub.  Very exciting things ahead for all of us.

This waiting game is driving me crazy - left on 8/13, got the box 8/16 but no letter yet.

My son arrived on 8/14.  He is going to be an MA.  Still no letter as to what ship/division he's in.

My son arrived Aug. 15.  Got the box on the 21st and just got the Form Letter today.  Ship 09 Div 394.  PIR Oct. 18.

We live two hours from Chicago across the lake in Michigan so maybe that's why I got the letter so soon.  I wasn't expecting it for another week.
