Just watched him board the shuttle to the airport. He is on his way. It's bittersweet...sad he is gone ...so happy he has this great road ahead of him..

Adele - Welcome to BC Moms - As you said, this is a bittersweet moment in your life. And being the day before Thanksgiving is hard on you and many of us are also busy with other family things so you haven't had as many replies.

Be sure to read the pages on the right side of the main Boot Camp Mom page. There is a lot of information.

Be sure to have your phone volume on high and close by you. The "I'm Here" call can be very late in the night depending. Also, if you know his flight and when he was to get in - you might be able to get a phone call in before he boards the bus at GL. Sorry, I know I am posting this later from when you sent your message, but there is still a possibility that he is not there yet.

Welcome Adele! This journey is definitely a roller coaster but you have come to the right place for information and support. My daughter has been at BC for 11 weeks now, she was held back 4 weeks for her final PFA but praying every day that I will be attending PIR in 2 weeks. Ask any questions you have, the ladies here are great! Good luck!

My son left on the 27th as well!  It’s so hard but so exciting at the same time.  I am confused how the process goes with the holidays right in the middle of everything.  Coming from military backgrounds for my husband and myself, we couldn’t be more proud of our son.

Tewpaw - it is so hard isn't it - i keep thinking about what he is doing now, and how has he been sleeping - is he missing home? I miss him so bad but this is such an amazing thing these kids are doing!

We should keep in touch as they are, at this point, still on the same track! Let me know if you receive the first letter - I am desperate to know where to send him a note saying I love him!

It is!  My son is 23 and moved away for about 2 years, but somehow this is more difficult and we are a military family.   I can’t stand not knowing what group or division they are in. I think I am more nervous than he was.  But I am so proud of him.

I couldn’t figure out why they took them the day before a holiday and how that plays into their training.  Like are they on the P-HOLD for the last couple of days or what is going on?

I will keep in touch.

Adele, congrats to our son.  It'll be a year soon that our son had his PIR.  Blessings to your son in his new Navy career.
