OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Son's Graduation Date -- Do not have yet. How can I get it?
My son left out on 1-23 and we received the red cross letter Wednesday 2-8-12 and then we finally received a letter from him yesterday 2-9-12. He stated in his letter that we should have already received the graduation packet and that it included the date of graduation. What do we do? We have not received it yet and I constantly call that number and they disconnect me each time.

Go to this link and look for his division number. It will give you the graduation date.

Look on the envelope of the letter he sent you. You will see Ship # and Division #. There is a list of graduation dates by division here on the site.

When you say "red cross letter," what do you mean?
The graduation information is a letter (about 3 sheets,some front and back) which your SR fills in some blanks. The first page is a letter from the commanding officer at RTC. After that there is information about contacting your recruit, a graduation date, and other important information you may need while your SR is at bootcamp.
The SRs send the "form letter" when they are placed in a division. It typically comes in a business sized envelope.
Even if that letter you have is not the graduation information, now that he has written you, you have hisaddress, right? You could always write to him and ask him if he can resend to form letter.
I'm impressed that you got a letter from him so soon! It took about 3 weeks before our division got our first letters! Lucky you!
Oh, and you can get just the graduation date using his ship and division number. RTC posts them at their website with lots of great info: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/index.asp. Here is the direct link: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp They update it regularly, but they haven't announced the March 30 training group/graduation yet.

You will need to have the form letter. I'm not sure if that is what you are referring to when you say "red cross letter." I've never heard of a red cross letter. If you got his ship and division did you get it from that letter? If so there is a page that will include his grad date - he would have hand written it into a blank line. The important reason for needing the form letter is that it includes the password you will need to download the parking pass for his graduation. If you haven't gotten this letter then, like Colorado Mom said, write him and let him know that he needs to resend it. If he's not sure how to do that try contacting RTC public relations office. I'm not sure what number you are calling that they keep disconnecting. If it is one that your son called from - that number doesn't go to any office. It's more than likely a pay phone.
