Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My daughters box came today also. Remember Pennyrh, your son is following his dream, and leaving is a natural progression. It's just so hard when we can't talk to them! Hang in there, my daughter said she'd be able to call in about 3 weeks from the 5th- so that would be the 26th, right around Thabksgiving!

Hi Pennyrh and Ericuts my son left on the 5th also but his box has not arrived. Could you tell me what method of delivery your boxes came? I am guessing it wasn't the US mail since today was a mail holiday Did it require you to sign for it? Thanks

Navymom1969 the box came to my house from FedEx. My husband had to sign for it. I bet yours comes today. I just kept thinking this was once step closer.

You are required to sign for it and If you think it is gonna come and you're gonna miss it I heard you can stick a note on your door with your signature telling them to leave the box...........Don't know if it's true or not, worth checking out if you think you're gonna miss it!!!!

Navymom1969, it came via FedEx and I just put a note on my front door which said PLEASE LEAVE BOX ON PORCH.i then signed it. Hope you get yours today!

Thanks everyone, I was able to get the box yesterday from the Fed EX main office in my area. I had missed the driver and just could not wait another day to get it! It is strange, I was very emotional last night but now today I feel somewhat of a calmness that has come over me?? I guess it is like everyone says we will have good days and bad days......

Just reading that puts my stomach in knots.........I know I will cry!! However, the silver lining in getting the box is that it means only 7 weeks to go...........I miss my boy too............we talk every day almost......We can do this!!! Hang in there!!!!

Pennyrh, the box is just the beginning of the very emotional roller coaster called Boot Camp!!! It was the most difficult eight weeks our family went through, but there are no words to express the joy and pride you will feel on graduation day. Get your cards and letters ready and rally everyone you know to do the same. It will make you feel good and it will make him feel GREAT!!! and loved!!! Also check N4M for information on what your SR is doing in boot camp. If you have a graduation date you can sort of figure out where he is in his training. Stay strong!!

We received our son's box on Monday but no cell phone in it. Has that happened to anyone else? Do they get to keep their cell phones?

Robin, thank you so much. We just threw the shoes in the closet and didn't even look in them. What a lifesaver you are!!! Now I can put the phone on military suspended status.
