FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Haven't heard from mine yet, but I know he touched base with his brother at college. Thar meanbs all is ok. Tomorrow starts day one with the new company. It's a comm. job so I could definitely use a few prayers!!! Thanks

survival training......I heard from my eel -eating guy that some of your boys caught and swallowed live fish whole! Remember that next time they're fussy about a meal you've cooked!

i heard from my son tonight. He said A is great...learning tons of info. They definitely had to take a cold dip. I'm so thankful that all the guys there are doing well. Time seems to be going a little faster now.

I think the toughest part of being a parent of these great soldiers is keeping ourselves busy so we don't consume ourselves with worry. Looking at it from TravisM and Proudmom view point, helps to reduce that stress level. They are being trained to handle all situations, so there is comfort in knowing they'll be with their training buddies.

A friend asked me earlier today if stories like that upset me. I realized that I am past that now. When I hear about the unfortunate deaths of SEALS, I actually become prouder of my son (if that is possible).... The comforting thought is the brotherhood that these guys share and how lucky they are to be together!
