Hi Ladies. First time in the California group. My Daughter Aubree is in the DEP program and will go to BC 9/22. Scheduled to train as a IS and go to A & C school in Dam Neck. My oldest works at Disneyland, we live nearby in Orange.

By the way, there are two lists going, one here and the other over at So Cal Moms. Only have to add your name to one of the lists. Thanks!

That's great news Jody! My son just got his first assignment so we are at the opposite end of the spectrum. He is very excited and will be joining a destroyer out of Japan. He is single so I'm sure this will be an adventure of a lifetime for him.

Good News.....Our LT got his written orders to return stateside!!

We can tell the difference in his mood. He is joking once again. Its been a long time since we have heard his sense of humor.

Now the push is on. He returns stateside, has to sell his house and move cross country within 45 days. The days will be busy for all. My husband and I plan to go out and give a hand. My husband will drive one of the vehicles and I will bring the granddaughters (ages 4 and 18 months) back on the plane with me. I will have the girls for about a week on my own while the other adults drive. Its been a while since I have had little ones all to myself. Thank god I have lots of family to help me keep these very active little girls busy!

It is exciting time ssince our son will now be stationed on the same coast as we are for the first time in 12 years.

This means I can hop on a flight and go for a weekend visit, verses having to fly cross country.

Needless to say my husband and I where just giddy the day we got the news he had his orders.

Our son is on his third deployment. The first two where to Iraq, We had much better communications when he was in Iraq than he has had in Afghanistan.

Well now we will be able to call whenever we want!!! He may have been in the Navy 12 years, but he is still our boy and we miss him.

He now will be stationed on a ship for the first time in his career, so we will have new hurdles to over come, but we will adapt.

Far winds and following seas

Hi, I'm Patty and live in Orangevale, CA (near Sacramento and Folsom). Any other Orangevale moms out there? My daughter is an Ensign, stationed in Pensacola and in the NFO program. Would LOVE to hear from any other O'vale moms!

Hi! my son is stationed in SD and is graduating C school July 2nd. I havn't booked my flight yet because Navy Lodge only has June 30 through July 2 available. I have to find a place to stay July 3,4, and 5 in order to get cheap airline tickets. (for a 6 day stay) My son can transport, but if anyone could let me sleep on their couch those days, please e-mail me at texasappaloosa@yahoo.com. I have to book my flight asap. I could compensate you with MK, ask Kim!!! LOL. Sunscreen, etc.
