My husband was able to pick his orders.  But they pick them according to their GPA so the better your bf does the better orders he will have to pick from.  When my husband was picking there were 3 green side orders and 7 state side orders and the rest of the people ended up in Japan.  Keep him motivated to get his GPA as high as he can because it will play in his favor come orders time.  If/When he gets to FMTB also try to keep him as motivated as possible. I did that with my husband and he won the award for "TOP DOG" which he and 3 others were nominated for out of 200+ people.  And the marines really respect their DOC's!

hi mikes mom! thank you! even if you cant help me now I believe I have found another invaluable source of information and knowledge to help me understand my bf's job. Do you know if in A school they can pick either greenside or blue side? or is it more or less appointed to them?

hello everyone! I thought i would introduce myself and give my back story. my name is Jenny I am 21 years old and have a 2 1/2 year old son with my ex. My boyfriend is currently in SA,TX at A school to become a Navy Corpsman. I have sooo many questions I don't know where to begin, I hope this is the right place to be even though im not a wife, yet. We are planning to marry either when he is in A school and I go visit him or when hes on his leave after A school. I know some of the pros and cons of each but I would like advice from wives who maybe have married either way? are there any other wives here with children from a previous relationship? Im really struggling trying to find others with a situation like me.
