Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

wasnt sure if anyone in the group knew what the USO is.  I just wanted to let you guys know that the USO does great work.  They do a program called smiles over miles, which is where you can go to the office and they record you on a DVD and send it to your loved one! They hold them once a month usually (or at least here in jax they do) My kids and I did it once for my husband and he loved it! You can check their website to see if they have a USO office in your town. go to www.uso.org to located near you! Some might even hold support groups.  They are at every deployment and are there at every homecoming. I have been blessed to have made a friend who works for the USO here in jax. There is also volunteer work that you can do! Check it out!!!

Marcy~corpsman mom, I forgot to say I called the hotel, the person in charge of checking in said that the lady had made a mistake, there is no discount for parents. Thanks for the info.

Proudcorpsmanwife3 I think the picture is great for a group picture and I live in TN.
