Hello, i have been making my priority to ship care packages to my daughter for 2.5 years and it has now grown into sending MULTIPLE boxes to various sailors on the ship. Today i have 60 boxes to send......and i cannot possibly afford the $960 it will cost to send them. Can anyone help guide me where i can get cheaper shipping? I even thought about starting a charity called "Caring for Sailors". I just held a packing party at my home to box up all the goodies, but i need help shipping them! I have collected a few cash donations but not nearly enough. Help! Cheryl Devine (mom of sailor on the USS Ronald Reagan)

Molly's adopt a a sailor probably can help  here is the link to the group here on N4Ms:  http://www.navyformoms.com/group/mollysadoptasailorproject

Also are you a member of the Reagan group??  If not Join us!!  here is the link that group:  http://www.navyformoms.com/group/ussronaldreaganfamilies

After much, much work MAS became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.  Molly's group 'adopts' a different ship or unit each month, so you'd propose the Reagan as a future adoptee.  To have your packages' postage paid for by them there must be a packing party, the shipping address must be that of the monthly adoptee, the packing party is headed by a person who volunteers to be state ombudsman, and all the attendees sign an attendance sheet ... there's a lot to it.   Contact them and see what they can do or advise.

Here's a pic of one sailore receiving a care package. I sent 40 boxes to sailors on the USS Ronald Reagan, if you'd like to donate, go to http://www.gofundme.com/27k7yk . I am making lots of sailors happy all at random. You can send requests to caringforsailors@yahoo.com and i will direct a care package to specific person.
