My son completed Battlestations yesterday, and has PIR on 12/29...I am so proud of him and all of those who endured the last 9 weeks.  I miss him terribly, but this site has helped me keep my sanity.

Wow! I haven't been on N4Ms since shortly after my daughter's PIR Aug2010... checked back on here to get some info for a new recruit dad, and decided to maybe check in with my sisters in Central Florida.  What is going on??? lol

Lonely orlando2011 said she has a son in boot camp since 11/15, and would like to know if anyone else has a son/daughter that left around the same time.

Welcome all the new Central FL moms!  It's nice to get some action on this site. It has been quiet for quite a while now.  I guess I'm an "old timer" LOL!  My son has been in for 1 1/2 years ... he is with the VAW-113 Black Eagles based in Pt. Mugu which is attached to the USS Ronald Reagan.  They were the first responders to the Japan Tsunami.  He returned on Sept. 19 after 7 months at sea and just got back from another "at sea".  I'm just waiting to hear when he's coming home for the holidays.  My daughter is 22 and in Tampa -- might as well be another state, though... it seems I saw her more when she was in school in Greenville SC. I'm a native Miamian, transplanted here to Orlando ... been here for 12 years now.  Wow, time sure does fly!

Hello everyone, I am originally from the Big Apple, currently in Fl. I am married to a humble kind man, and have 4 kids, and they are my inspiration. My daughter is 23, married and has a lil boy 2 years old who calls me Daamaa......i also have a 20 year old son in the Navy, 15 year old son who loves chess, and my "bonus baby" is 6 and reads at the level of an 8 year old, loves art and music despite being diagnosed with Autism at age 2. We are preparing for our trip to Great Lakes for PIR on 12/29...I'm sending up prayers that it doesnt snow and that the airfares go wayyyyy down.
