Hello! I'm from the hills of Clermont! My son just got to BC on Monday 3/31. I'm new to all of this and would love to meet some of you ladies!

Paula such a small world. What year did your son graduate? Did he go to private school here in Mt. Dora or public? There are two other women I've met online from our area one in Oviedo the other Deltona. I've had coffee with the mom from Oviedo. We are planning to have coffee again on Friday along with the mom from Deltona. You are more than welcome to join us. SB in LM (if you know what this means. Not sure if we can post information such as cities and places we would meet on the group)

Hi ermklm1022! My son is currently in Norfolk, but we lived in Mt. Dora for most of his childhood. Now in Maitland. Just the other end of the 414 extension. This is a great site to help you get through boot camp and beyond. Glad you found it!

Soleil, is he on a ship ? If so do you have his ship email address? When my son is underway and no other form of communication we send emails through the ship system, it might take a day or so for him to respond since communication to the outside world is sometimes shut off due to where they are. Right now I have him here but tomorrow he will fly out to head back :( but he is amazing when it comes to keeping in touch even if it is just a "hi, I'm still alive and I will talk when I can, love ya'll"

Hi, Lisa!  Thanks for answering!  Although I am a longtime Navy mom, I am new to this site and am a bit stressed out over my son's deployment because I can't reach him.

Are you able to stay in touch with yours?  Any advice for me?

This cold snap we're having has been annoying--had to run out and cover my plants.  I have a few tropicals and some veggies needing protection.  Hope you stayed warm!

I live in central Fl on the East Coast, near New Smyrna Beach. My son is an ensign serving on the USS Boxer.

Are any of you moms nearby?  Would love to meet you!
