I got my son's address from the recruiter. He left on the 15th, ship 04 div 119. Still no form letter yet.
I just copied and added the list in the Discussion Forum above ... :)
Hi Claudia! Great idea to get it out early. Sometime it arrives in a week others 4 or more weeks ... just depending on when the last RAS (replenishment at sea) was. I woulldn't send chocolate cause it melts everywhere (but you could send a jar of Nutella and Marshmallow topping if he likes it) along with other Easter Stuff... jelly beans, etc., Check out the Molly's Adopt a Sailor site for their Sailor Supply List. You should have his FPO address to send it to. Make sure to use to Post Office FPO Box as this will save you $$$!
Momof4 ... awesome! You are on your way to more info ... what we crave!

@ lindA AM MOM - Yes- Have found A PIR group for 4/13. Look forward to her phone call.
Welcome Momof4! Hang in there! Have your found a PIR 4/13 group here? Proud Mom, that's the group I was thinking of... not a division group -- we didn't have one of those but I did meet other mom's and families of sailors in his division at the Meet and Greet in Great Lakes!
Mail call! No form letter!! ugh!!
Proud mom - My daughter went up on the14th. From Cocoa, also. She was friends with the kid that went up on the 15th. He was a friend of my sons. Got her box on friday and found out today she is 03/117. PIR April 13.
Proudmom ... I remember the call ... so short, but sweet! Now, you will receive "the box" .... his clothes that he left in ... it's really kinda weird, but it's okay... I never thought I'd love to smell his dirty clothes! LOL -- now when you find out his division (you will receive a letter they make them write home with the address and his division) you can find the site on N4M's and join the other's in that group. It helps so much that we are here for each other!
Jangee, you've just joined the ranks of "Proud Navy Moms" every where, and yes, we are all here for each other.
Thank you proudmom. I have a feeling I won't be getting too much sleep either. I'm so glad I found this group. Everyone here is so supportive!
