FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

aw! so sweet lori!! i wish everyone's parent's felt that way about their homecoming... you're sooo sweet! we should all exchange numbers and meet up when we get there. and hey, seriously, does anyone know how things work when they come into port? do they wait if they get there early? or do they just pull in... i had this dream recently that i missed it... lol don't want to miss it for sure...

btw, i've sent out 3 packages so far and jim has just recieved the third one but has not yet received the first two... definitely no rhyme or reason to the mail delivers...

hey, does anyone know about getting a photographer for march? has anyone ever done that/does anyone know anyone good in SD who would be willing to be flexible with the date...?
i've been doing a little research, but wanted to know if any of you had any experience with this...

haha. thanks maureen, just trying to give him a little piece of home as much as possible. my plans are epically failing though... lol

and yeah, i was thinking about doing the quilt square too. gotta get on that right away though so it will get there in time, i'll do it this weekend i think...

amen on the packages. i've been sending one every 2 weeks and Jim still hasn't gotten one of them, but he said 2 are on the carrier together, weird. it's frustrating, i wanted to make sure that he got one every time the mail came in, but i guess you just can't have that kind of control over stuff like that... ha.
