Welcome Mom from St Pete.
Check out the Facebook page for USS Cape St George for the latest happenings.

Hello everyone, its been nice to hear from my son & seeing how he currently looks. Without his shirt while working out in the gym. He looks like the "Rocks" son! LOL!!
Hope he gets my box with his xmas stocking filled with goodies. He said mail call was today (yesterday). It would be a perfect Xmas delivery.

Have a very Merry Xmas & a Happy New Year, & may we all hear from our sons, husbands, etc. this holiday. Maybe on the new video or pixes.

Hello my son is in San Diego CA assigned to this ship. He is going to school right now. Will go out next time the ship goes out. Does anyone know when that will be?  He does not know....  Just curious of course.  He was in Hawaii for 3 years before on shore duty. This will be a big transition for him and his wife I am sure.

My son replied to me a couple days ago. Just 5 words. Right to the point! :-)
Its not a long walk. Maybe no more than 15 minutes if @ same pier. Im sure there will be others walking as well.
The last D my son worked on HC & we got to stay with him. I think we finally left @ 5pm.
He & his friends were so hungry we went & got them Chinese food (on base), & his friends wanted McDonalds. This time Im getting it 1st if he has to work.
The crew wasn't fed until 4:30 when pizza was delivered.
But it was nice we got to stay with him as long as we wanted. We talked the entire time about his 1st D experiences. Of course I asked all the questions. :-)

If they are on the same pier that they were on before it is not a long walk.

My daughter will be traveling alone to meet our sailor.  She is staying in a hotel close to the base and is not renting a car.  My son has told her that taxis are not allowed on the base, so she will need to walk from the gate to the pier.  Is that a long distance for her to walk?  Is there a shuttle from the gate to the pier?  Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I have heard from mine, but it's short and sweet. He didn't say, but it feels like he had a time limit.
