After having a problem with the MEPS doctor, he did get a waiver, for a condition he didn't even have, to go in. He arrived at Boot Camp late last night. I know he went with one other kid from Colo Springs but not sure if any others from here. When he called, he went from O'Hare with about 50 others. He's very excited to get on with his "adult" life and make something if himself!

My son graduated BC Aug 30-we are also from the Springs.  Good for your son!!

Welcome Jen.  My son also graduated on 30 Aug and is in A school in Gulfport, MS.  He is a BU.  What is your son's job going to be?  I'm up in HR btw.  Glad to hear he's excited.  My son was the same way.  But even though he thinks he's all grown up now I know better, He'll always be my little boy!!

Thanks! What us a BU and HR? He went as I undesignated and hopefully that will work out. I wish they would have waited until the new fiscal year October 1 instead they took him on Sept 20, when there were no jobs....

BU= Builder.  My son is a SeaBee.  The Navy Construction Corps.

HR= Highlands Ranch. (a suburb just south of Denver, North of Castle Rock and between I-25, C-470 and Santa Fe.)

One of my sons also almost was sent home from MEPS after waiting 8 months to go in in DEP. The doc said he had a 1% curvature of his spine. He is 6'4" and tends to slouch, but not any more! I ran that by his reg. do for here, he said, no never saw that, and if he did 1% is nothing. He had to get a waver also. Now he is almost done at A school, 12/20 !! Will be home for Christmas.
Apparently the doctor in Denver has been disqualifying kids left and right for Lordosis ( curvature if the lower spine) mine also slouches a d two doctors and a radiology report disagreed with MEPS diagnosis. Thankfully they sent his records for another review and did get a waiver. But it was a very long delay as he just left
Oh mine is an EM. school in Goose Creek, SC
