Hello all family of future and present Corpsmen,
my son has just completed one week at BC and I have already learned that not everyone here feels anything I am feeling. Thanks for this group and now I am even more excited.
In sharing info with my son and experience with all of you
Welcome Aboard - hang on for the ride of a lifetime! There are plenty of ups and downs that change by the day. My son is 1yr out of BC and is now a Corpsman in the Reserves. Amazing to see him in all his gear. Keep reading on this site - lots to learn. Soon you will know your PIR (Pass In Review=Graduation) date and can join that group for more specifics. I still get chills every Friday morning when I think about graduation. Thank you for your families service!
Wow, I feel like I should take leaps to catch up with some of you but then something tells me to take it slow and tip toe slowly cause there is so much involved.
Well if all goes well, we celebrate on May 30th 2014, just got the letter in the mail. Hopefully I can get the money together to be there and show him how proud and excited I am for what he decided to do with his life. Please keep us in prayer.
The good news is the down days change quickly to up days and there will be longer stretches of up days in the later weeks as their teams come together. Hang on and just be supportive when your SR does get a chance to call. Plan to make it to PIR at all cost! You do not want to miss that one if at all possible. It is an event like no other! Well worth any sacrifice.
