Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

There is nothing like boot camp graduation! A School is nice but much smaller and less formal. You can get up and take pictures. If you can go its really nice. I couldn't make my sons but got to see pictures. I had just been out to see him and couldn't go again.

Hello and congrats -
My son graduated from A school in February of 2012 and I went to the ceremony in SA; it was much smaller and, as I viewed it, more "intimate" than the one for basic training at Great Lakes. The graduates filled up the lower half of the auditorium ; the families sat in the upper section. I was kind of surprised that there weren't that many family members at the graduation but since the graduates came from all over the country I can sort of see why - hotels & airfares are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. I was fortunate that I have relatives in San Antonio with whom I was able to stay (I live near Rochester, NY). I very much enjoyed the graduation and getting together with my son & seeing how he had matured since going in the Navy; also I had a wonderful visit with extended family I hadn't seen in many years.

Check out the graduation face book page they post photos of every graduation. Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program. We were unable to attend our sailors graduation but we got some great photos of him from the face book page.
You will also notice that the Air force graduates in the same ceremony
