Well, my Sailor has been in A school now 2 weeks. One run test completed and first liberty leave this weekend.  He's really excited. Being from P'cola, he'll be spending his day catching up with the guys and hanging out.  He's started classes (afternoon to midnight !) but loves that he has all morning for the gym and running.  Tried out for the band as well.  Things seem to be back on a good track for him.  So....how is everyone else's kids doing ?   Anyone here belong to a Woods ?  He's my son's room mate. Graduating in a month.

Hello Hummingbirdxss!

This group does seem pretty dormant...maybe you'll spark some interaction. My son has been at Corry since early March (PIR 3-2), and he'll be there for about year. It's beautiful, so plan to visit if possible!

Good morning NM !  This group is kind of quiet so I thought I'd jump in. My son PIR 4/13 and now at Corry.  He said is a small base but he really likes it especially the NEX lol !!  (That boy loves to eat).  They haven't actually started school yet, just the classes he calls Life Skills.  Anyway, Hello !!!

Pdx252mommamoo have you joined Bootcamp Moms and the group with your daughters PIR date?  Those will be wonderful groups to join.  I learned a lot!  Just know they won't be able to call a lot during boot-camp, write a lot of letters of support and tears are ok.  Also if you are traveling to see graduation Sarge is wonderful knowledge!

So can they have their desktop computer? I e many have taken or been sent their laptop. What's the wi-fi or network connection like? Is it worth the cost of sending the desktop & monitor?

@Bingaling...no he didn't go bowling. He hung out with some of the guys he flew with and then kinda wandered around the base.  He told my husband today that he had a class that spelled out the dos and donts of the base.  I hope they get going this coming week.

@Robbin: My son got there Saturday night. He mentioned reporting for training on the 24th but that's a Sunday, so I"m not sure if I understood him correctly. I assume this week, they are just getting settled and figuring out what's where. Some of the Sailors went bowling Sunday.  Was one of them you son?

My son just arrived early early Sunday morning.  Wondering how long it will take before classes start.  I think he is a little bored.
