Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son loved his time in Fort Lee, but be aware that he may be "stuck" in Great Lakes for several weeks before going to VA. They only start a class when there are enough service people from all the branches to begin. My son waited a full month. Just don't get discouraged... it will happen whenever!!!

Comment by VillageMum on August 22, 2020 at 2:07pm: Hello All ~ my daughter's ship date for RTC was brought forward and she leaves Tuesday. I hear it's 1 day MEPS, 2 weeks ROM then 6 weeks-ish of RTC.

Has anyone heard what the wait time is like these days between PIR and being shipped to Fort Lee for A School? I hear it can be weeks between the two. Just wondering what the recent (COVID) experience has been.

Comment by NavyMomofJM on June 10, 2020 at 6:32pm: Hello, my son is a CS and he is currently at his first duty station. COVID 19 has played havoc with his first duty station. He loved CS school and is excited to do it once everything get back to normal for the world.

My daughter was signed up for FN but her initial request was for CS so when it became available her recruiter switched her. She does Culinary at High School and loves it.
Looking forward to what the future holds.

I still haven't heard of any changes. The Navy was very good to my son and he enjoyed learning CS but loved working supply on the carrier he was assigned to! Congrats to your girl.
