The short of it about the website.

Navy for Moms has a new agency in control, and it is a hosted website. The membership cap for this website is 100,000, and that cap was hit in April.

The membership cap could be increased, but along with the increase for members comes a huge increase in monthly cost.The decision was made by the agency with the Navy to delete inactive members, freeing up room for thousands (if not tens of thousands) new members.

If you look at the column to the left on this page you will see new members arriving! :)

There is a group of us, starting in October, and with much work from B'sNukeMoM⚓️MM, that have been in direct contact with each other, with the ad agency and the Navy powers that be. We have been given admin privileges, and are working along with the agency to get things up and running again.

If you are in another group and the "warning" is not posted, please feel free to do so. We are trying to hit all the groups etc, but there are literally hundreds of them. Our fingers are moving as fast as they can. LOL

Good things are coming!

Is everyone on this site aware that if you have not posted in a long time you might get deleted? N4M hasn't been taking new members in a long time but through the efforts of one of the Nuke moms, we have new life. The N4M site tops out at 100,000 members and right now there is a waiting list to join of 3000+. I can't remember the date exactly that you would have had to post in order to stay on, but I recommend that if you want to stay on N4Ms and you haven't posted in a while, please do so.

SORRY - FORT LEE IS NEAR PETERSBURG, VA south of Richmond. (My head got confused due to the airport run into Richmond we had to make to send our sailor to Guam).

navymom2015  - sorry I can't help. Mine is on a carrier for the last 2 years. Hopefully one of the sub moms will answer. I know how you feel though, often mine is using language and letters I can only guess at! Good luck.

I am looking for other moms that are more seasoned then me and they have a sailor that is a CSSA that i can talk with my son has been in the navy a year now and deployed teying to earn his fish and i have seem so clueless since he got out of bootcamp while in Bc i joined facebook group and they provided lots of info that kept me in the loop and i had lots to talk about with my sailor now i just smile and nod when he talks as i know what the heck he is talking about and having good info also helped me give him the moral boost he needed when he needed so just really looking for a mom that can explain what to expect over the time he is getting qulified

Some new moms so here's the standard info....

When your sailor finishes boot, he will immediately have to move over to Great Lakes Naval Base following PIR. You will have to wait several hours (At least 2 or 3 o'clock) until they have "moved in" to the new base. Once they are free, they will have restricted liberty for the remainder of the weekend (Fri evening, Sat and Sun) - he will know the restrictions and when each day he is free and when to return. The CS all stay at GL for at least 2 and sometimes 4 weeks, or more,  until the class is ready in VA. The first week is indoc classes (a Navy necessity) followed by a lot of cleaning and standing watch. That's just the way of it. As to PIR weekend, you can plan as it fits your schedule since he'll be in Great Lakes, IL for several more weeks.

School is about 5 weeks in Fort Lee, Richmond VA. It's there that they will be assigned their first duty station just before the schooling is finished. There is a nice graduation ceremony with about 1/3rd of the sailors having family present. USUALLY they will finally be permitted leave before reporting to their duty station or ship (my son went immediately to Guam after 10 days to catch a carrier that was already deployed). 

This is the "normal" schedule... at least it is the average timing. The thing to always remember is that it is the military and THAT means nothing is ever written in stone. Not dates, not leave, it's always up in the air! As my Marine parents group says..."Semper Gumby" (always flexible).

Some times he have to work day on the weekend but you can check him out on a Friday and have him back by Saturday if he on duty that Sunday

Once our son graduates boot camp, he stays in GL for a while is what we are hearing. After PIR do we have to wait just like if his school was there? does he get the weekend liberty?
